Every 6 months to a year, power it on to check the battery and charge it up again to 60%, the goal being to keep it within 10% of 50%. That will keep the battery in the best condition possible as around the 50% mark is where the battery is in equilibrium.So, I have a patched unit and I wont be able to play it until it gets hacked. The JoyCons will discharge quickly though unless you open them and disconnect the battery.

Given by my uncle. He won it in a raffle last December. I'm very lucky but my luck isn't just as perfect as I thought it would be. lolAnd why in the first place you got a patched unit? Didn't you see the post regarding patched units?
