Just Cause 2 is stupid cheap, $3.74. All the DLC combined totals $2.18. I heard this game was somewhat fun and also that a fan mod allows online multiplayer now? (its in beta?) Anyone know anything about that?

Is the DLC worth plunking down a few extra dollars for? Considering picking this up, but I just bought Saints Row: The Third, so... dunno.

It's a damn fun game if you enjoy crazy open world stuff. Sadly the main story stuff is kinda boring at times but there's just a lot of fun to be had roaming the island. At roughly $5 it'd be stupid NOT to get it.

Only reason I'm hesitant currently is that I don't know if my PC can handle it.

MP beta
I've tried it with a cracked copy, didn't work. Could be my fault, don't know for sure.

The DLC isn't worth it, just a bunch of extra skins/weapons/vehicles.
Otherwise, excellent (yet flawed game). It's truly the biggest sandbox game out there, and there's loads of stuff to do/collect. Problem is, it's always the same.
For 5 USD, pick it up, you'll have a great time. Just so much messing around in that game, with different airplanes and all, cool cool. Also, there are some interesting mods out there.

OK about to buy JC2 but wondering wheather to pick the DLC as well? I've ruled out the Chevalier, pistol, assault rifle and monster truck but the hovercraft, plane pack and rocket launcher pack look tempting :L

The MP Beta for Just Cause 2 is quite appealing for me. Just read over it, but wanna make sure... none of the DLC is needed to participate in the Beta right? My games won't get broken if others have DLC that I don't have?

If the DLC are just simple reskins, then I'd rather skip on those... even if they are dirt cheap. :)

I ended up getting Arma II: Combined Operations, just for DayZ =D
Definitely worth it xD
Probs getting L4D2 tomorrow, friends told me it was only $5.00. Can't go wrong at that price!

Nope, you don't need DLC.

But it's worth mentioning that you can't exactly try the beta right now. The open-beta test was only temporary. It's be coming back after awhile but with server software so users can put up their own Just Cause 2 server.

I would still get Just Cause 2, though. The single-player is quite fun.

looks like need for speed is the next community deal, think i may pass, will have to see what today deals are

Is Just Cause 2 essentially the same as Saints Row 3/Gta IV?

Not really. It's much larger and plays a lot differently. I think it has the largest map of any game to date (citation needed) and mechanically it's a lot different (sky diving, parasailing, stuff like that).

Actually you might (depending on the server) when it is officially released:
How does the server handle DLC?

The server will be able to require or disable any DLC for all players. During public betas, all DLC is disabled.

FAQ
No, you won't. I spoke with the devs on their IRC server and they said DLC can be disabled/enabled by server owners.

Even if it is enabled, you won't need it to participate. It would simply mean that other people have cars and shit that you don't have.

Well if the second bit you said is true then that's ok then.

But what's to stop one from having a pal get a tank, get out and let you in?

Absolutely nothing.

But you can always spawn it again from the Black Market so it doesn't matter.
Err... FAQ again says there will be no black market....

Can I access the black market?

No.
Once again, that's for the temporary open beta. When server tools are available for everyone, you'll be able to toggle the Black Market on or off.

Awesome, that's a relief.
