Gordon Freeman in the flesh. Or rather, in the Playstation 3 port. I took the liberty of relieving you of your PS3 store; most of them were Sony's property. As for the port, I think you’ve earned it. Given the current status of my Quake 3 ports, which I'm feeling satisfied so far (although there's still a lot of stuff that I'd really, really like to implement), my next project was a XASH3D FWGS port for the Playstation 3. Compared to my previous port, I decided to make a thread about its current status, what's left and when the first release will be. Whereas with my previous Q3 ports I would make a thread as soon as I got a playable build. Was AI used in this project? Yes, AI was used to assist me in coding. All the testing and the debugging sessions were done by me on real hardware following a strict goal-based roadmap. I also got some of the pieces fully working thanks to my previous Quake 3 port. And this brings us back to: HOW TO INSTALL: Place your valve (Half Life), gearbox (Opposing Force) or bshift (Blue Shift) inside /dev_hdd0/data/xash3dfwgs/ be sure to delete the cfg files. The game will create them automatically on boot. Latest release Current status: Half Life 1, Opposing Force and Blue Shift are playable. It doesn't affect the gameplay at all however. In Opposing Force the ropes would make the framerate drop from 60 to 52. FAQ: I put the valve folder inside /dev_hdd0/data/xash3dfwgs/ but the game crashes on boot, why? Be sure to rename it xash3dfwgs in lowercase. It's case sensitive. The game loads but my character can only move and look around! Remove the config files before launching the game. How do I use the console? You select the Console line in the menu, hit Triangle to open the OSK and hit CROSS to send the cvar. "Can you port x?" No. At the moment my main focus is to port Counter Strike 1.6, Team Fortress Classic and focus back on my Quake 3 ports. I do have other projects I am currently laying my eyes on but I'm not even at the briefing phase for each, let alone if I'm even able to tackle on them. Screenshots:

I never used Steam until I started playing Portal 2. I beat the game and I am now trying to plat it. I am thinking that I would like to play Portal 1. My understanding is that I cannot play a Steam copy of Portal 1 on my PS3. The Steam copy is half the price of the PSN copy of course.

Does Steam tell you somewhere that you cannot play a Steam copy of Portal 1 on a PS3?

Steam sells PC games, they don't sell PS3 games.

It works the other way around, a copy of Portal 2 on PS3 will give you a code to be redeemed on Steam, and it syncs achievements/trophies (not sure if PC to PS3 but PS3 to PC synced for me.)

I don't think they did that for Portal 1, though. And Steam won't give anything for PS3 as trumpet-205 said.

edit: aaaaand I may be late. Less than a month though. Oh well.
