Hey guys.
I want to put steam os on my android mini pc, the mk908ii
And have been googleing to see if it can be done but can't find anything.

Apparently steam os will work on nearly all hardware so does anyone know if this can be done and if so how the hell to do it.

Mainly I would use it for the in home streaming from my main gaming pc. Rust and lfd2 for example.

The mk908ii has ARM architecture. Steam OS currently only supports x86 (like WinPC CPUs) architecture. So, for now, you are out of luck but maybe in the future it will be ported to run on ARM devices.

if you want to turn your tv box into gaming station you should check batocera to see your tv box is compatible or not, for steam os is not possible due to arm processor, you need real mini pc to install steam os such as lenovo mini pc, msi cubi, etc

SteamOS is a public release of our Linux-based operating system. The base system draws from Debian 8, code named Debian Jessie.

What are the SteamOS Hardware Requirements?

Processor:

Intel or AMD 64-bit capable processor
Memory:

4GB or more RAM
Hard Drive:

200GB or larger disk
Video Card:

NVIDIA graphics card
AMD graphics card (RADEON 8500 and later)
Intel graphics
Additional:

USB port for installation
UEFI Firmware (recommended)

Sorry, I had to change my response. 1st time looking at specs of SteamOS.
But depending on the Intel Graphics requirement, a Thin Client may still be a good solution.

that's the old steamos, it's been abandoned, discontinued and is no longer downloadable, the download link just redirects to the steam deck recovery image, steamos 3 is based on arch, not debian
I was fixing my response when you replied :) Where would I find current info to the OS? I got info from Steam.

the current steamos isn't available for normal use yet, the only way to get something like steamos until it releases proper for general use is to use "HoloISO" or something that tries to replicate steamos like chimera, so I'd start with looking at the homepages for those two for now
