Time to break down and buy the lens cleaner

Would a generic lens cleaner work?ya know those magic discs you put in to clean the lens of a dvd player etc. You dont have to actually open up the wii and get at the lens do you?

I'm wondering if Im the only one having this problem. Maybe I should install a higher version of CiosCorp. What is the difference between 1.1 and 2?

It could be your Wii suffers from the "Dirty-Lens" Problem that occurred when SSBB first came out. I have tried every soft mod out there and no backup of SSBB DVD-5 or DVD-9 or even Retail Discs work on my Wii. No soft mod can fix my Wii, I'd have to send it to Nintendo for repair, which is free, but I'm too lazy to clean up all the soft modding before sending it back.

for all of that i might as well repair the lens myself BUT before I crack open my one and ONLY Wii I'm going to try CiosCorp 2 and if that doesnt work... I'll buy a lens cleaner from Game Crazy... then when all else fails, I'll crack open my drive.
BTW when you instal CIOSCORP V2 tell me what happens to HOTD Overkill..lol. Thanks.

Overkill works fine... thats using the CiosCorp found in the package provided from softmii.com
WAIT! You're lens is perfectly fine! The softmii package does not include CIOSCORP v2 as I just installed CIOSCORP v1 and now HOTD OVERKILL works. But brawl doesnt. ...Get CIOSCORP V2...there are ways... (TRY THE MIIWII PACKAGE)

OK Apparently I got the wrong CiosCorp, could someone link me to CiosCorp2 ...In a PM would be fine... the only other problem Im having is a lack of support with Japanese games. They all play in their respective loaders but I cant get "Battle Satdium DON" (GC) and "Lets Tap" (Wii) to show up in the disc channel

I thought all my GC devices were unplugged.
Found that the second memory card was still inserted.
Works like a charm.

Im having the same issue also. i installed both region Free patches and they do NOT work. The only reason my Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom shows on the disc channel but not play is because its patched to NTSC-U

Hmm...region free channels isn't working for me. Though...that patch has two parts, and it said that it detected the patch for the first part, but not the second. So maybe not everything is patched. Everything else seems to work...I don't have a disc with an update to test with, though it did automatically get me through the health screen. NTSC USA Wii as you probably remember.

same issue too.
I have NTSC-U SystemMenu 4.0 + CiosCorp from SoftMii2.1.1 + Cios60BF + plugable YAOSM 3.2 modchip.
check update : test OK
move disc channel: test OK
No health check: show shorter period w/o pressing A (seems OK for me)
Region free channels: not test yet
Region free: fails w/o YAOSM32 (test with Mario Kart PAL), and of course OK if YAOSM32 plugged

Could someone help me point into how to get my Wii updated to 4.0? I should use this patch definitely. =] But, how would I do the cIOSCORP on it. o_o I'm not sure if there is a special installation of it or not?

Just the programs though...I don't need steps...unless needed. o-o THANKS! =]

Alright everyone. I've Figured out how to get every game working agan. Install CIOSCORP v2 + cios 60, and then install CIOSCORP v1s: ios's 55, 33, 35, and 53. Then everything should work properly. At least it did for me!
