My wiimote is broken (without apparent reasons)..again..
and this is the second time i buy one..
so, there is a way to start the Wii and navigate into the menu with the Gamecube Controller?
i really need it!
Thanks in advance :)

If you have Bootmii@Boot2, connect the GC controller and start HBC directly, so you can run emulators, loaders and everything you need,
if not, you can use priiloader to boot at HBC or another thing, like Loader GX, that supports GC controller.

ah ok thanks!
but i need to set all with a wiimote right?

Why would you break your Wii remote?

Edit: I have 4 remotes just because I wanted them and none of them have never shut down on me.

i don't know, really! i treat my controllers like glass.. but the Wii hates me!
hwr, can i set the hbc at the startup without use a wiimote?

If bootmii is installed in your SD card, then a gray screen with four options should pop up. You use the eject button to cycle through them (default is the Wii menu) until you get to the HBC icon. Alternatively, you can change the bootmii settings in the ini file to say Homebrew Channel instead of the menu. (Sounds easier to do it this way.)

Curious, in what way is it broken? does it no longer sync with the red sync buttons? does it just not turn on at all, no lights flashing when you push a button? and to be ABSOLUTELY sure, it has good batteries right?

EDIT:
You really should have Priilader installed.

IMHO, Bootmii should be left to IOS, and Priiloader should be your only pre-boot intervention.
If you rename/delete the /bootmii folder off of your SD card you shouldn't even notice that bootmii@boot2 is there until you need it. If you're lucky enough to have a Wii that is CAPABLE of having bootmii installed as boot2, installing it like that will make your Wii virtually UNBRICKABLE. There are still plenty of things you can do to brick your Wii if you have just PriiLoader installed.

I would personally vote for having BOTH installed as the best option (when available)

these xD
is dead, and i tried with 6 different batteries :/
hwr, i'll try with the Priiloader :) but i think that i must wait for a friend's wiimote for install it xD
thanks at all for now!

Yeah, if you don't already have it there's no way to get past the system menu

To check, if your drive light flashes 2 times when the Wii starts up and there's no SD card in, you have bootmii@boot2 ... if you happen to already have priiloader installed, holding down the reset button while the Wii is starting up will get you into priiloader.

Doesn't hurt to check.

nope :( flashes only 1 time..
anyway, no problems :) i need only to wait for a wiimote for install the priiloader

That's like the worst advice ever.

Yeah, a lot of people blast me for doing that. I install the HBC for multiple people with my SD Card, and I'm just too damn tired of the Hackmii installer putting the Bootmii files on my SD. It has happened at least 5 times already.

Just set BOOTDELAY to 0. It's not like it's difficult.

Really, you think it's okay to put saving 60 seconds (just run BootMii Configuration Editor) over maximum brick recovery?

I tried setting BOOTDELAY to 0. It's not really 0. Not only does Bootmii have to load, it briefly shows up.

Yes, I do think it's okay to forgo maximum brick protection. I've done some stupid shit in my day (downgrading, partial region changes, etc.), and none of it gave me any form of brick. Wiis are pretty resilient.
I could only see Bootmii boot2 being helpful for power outages and truly idiotic users, and the latter wouldn't know how to use Bootmii anyway.

Oh, and there's the thing that I share my Wii with my family. If one of them sees Bootmii, they'll freak out. If they boot into it somehow (I wouldn't put it past them) then the Wii could possibly be VERY fucked.

Then you did something wrong. I've used it multiple times. Even if it were true, you could also use BCE to rename the bootmii folder.

You are acting like it does something horrible by taking an extra .5 seconds when booting.

They really aren't, at lease when it comes to softmodding. Nintendo did a decent job of making them work as long as you don't change things you shouldn't be allowed to. But that's not how it is. There are thousands of full bricks.

Hackmii will put the Bootmii folder right back on, and we're back to square 1.

That really adds up. I'm not a patient person.

Yes, tons of idiots brick their Wiis. Priiloader is more idiot-resistant than Bootmii boot2, IMO.
And my Wii can't have Bootmii as boot2.

Just delete the folder after backing it up.

No it won't. The only time it does that is if you manually install BootMii (not the auto-install) or select Prepare SD Card.

If an unnoticeable amount of time bothers you, then you've got bigger issues. I think you are imagining the amount of time it takes.

Then you don't understand how the Wii works.

Why are you bitching then?

It's just too much extra work to do all that crap when I don't need the functionality.
For what it's worth, I install Bootmii boot2 on every Wii I hack. Just not my own.

It's annoying to have Bootmii boot2 automatically pop up when e.g. I just installed the HBC and Priiloader, and I need to install other things like cIOS. I'll hold RESET at boot up to use Priiloader as a shortcut to the HBC, but then Bootmii will pop up, and you have the use the damn power and reset buttons if you want to go to the HBC from there. Bootmii plz.
