You're all complicated, I just took my full ISO, deleted everything past the maximum capacity of my DVD-R using a Hex-Editor (which is a bit more than the 4699-something bytes you're all suggesting), and burned it. Works fine, sure, Subspace Emmissary doesn't work, but why would you want to play that without the epic cutscenes anyway?

Beacuse wee need Subspace emissary to unlock a lot of characters....

I'm pretty sure all characters can be unlocked by doing 400 or so VS Battles, which can be very quickly done using Special Brawl -> Stamina + Flower + Handicap to 1HP for one char.

I've tested the step-by-step instructions one more time, burned the iso, launched the game and checked that the videos of the Movies section are correcty relinked.
Everything works fine for me. Can someone else confirm that ?

@ mossen & ississ
The code 6 is a Trucha bug.
Some guys on the forum had the same problem in the past. You can try to perform a search to find a solution.

@ elektrixxx
Your DRE is probably caused by a burning problem (media quality or burning speed).

@ Pikachu025
At launch game, have you tried to watch the opening movie until the end ?

“Could not replace file (code 6)” means that the H0 hash checking don’t match…

I don't have any idea what to do.....

Yeah I had a one-off bad burn with the DVD5 but it's all good now.

A mate's comin' around tomorrow with a retail copy to see whether it's my lens at fault with the DVD9.

I hope this works out good, as i'm getting my Wii chipped tomorrow and i don't have any money left to buy Dual-layers ._.

Why does everyone want to use PAL version of Brawl so desperately??

You can use NTSC on PAL Wii no problems.

Can't import OPMovie.thp with trucha!!! It says "Could not replace the file (code: 6)"

You can't use a Scrubber to cut the DVD9 iso. Use 7zip

This metod works perfect. Only VC demos doesn't works..

I got it working.. The first time that is, after that when i put my disc in it says that the Wii system files are corrupted, but when i take it out, everythings fine O.o

I'm playing with the 2nd layer of the ISO cut. I get a DRE about 30 seconds into the the Toon Link unlock level. I think it's the point when the ship hits the rocks. I had no problem with this on my JAP DVD5.

I had to pull a 9 on Link with Mr. G&W to unlock him.

For those who have problems with Trucha, you can search "ssbb_dvd5" on Usenet.
Caution, do not search "ssbbdvd5", this one is an unmodified version (just a cut DVD9).

Edit : I've checked ssbb_dvd5.iso. That's the good one.

Cheers to the person who gave all the details works perfectly

Only question i have is

Does anyones wii make a lot more noise as in disk spinning when playing?

only game i have that does it

Can anyone of you, using this DVD5 launch brawl through GeckoOS? When I do, my wii crashes. (Trying to play Brawl Plus)

brawl plus patches various addresses on the dvd. As the addresses are moved as you cut things out, it is impossible to use brawl plus with a dvd 5 version unless someone makes a special edition for it.

Hm... isn't all the cut-scenes (which are the only things (to my understanding) that are being cut out with this method) located on the second layer which mean no adresses before the cut-scenes would be moved.

However, the thing is, Gecko OS crashes even without cheat codes, when trying to launch this DVD5 SSBB, so I wonder can anyone of you others confirm that it crashes for you too or is it just my disc?

I anyone has an idea what to do about, I'd be glad to take part of it.
