For all intents and purposes there isn't one found yet; I wouldn't consider "somebody has it in private" to amount to anything, really. Curious how people against piracy seem to be the ones looking for the relevant exploits the most, eh?

Yeah, i guess, but with kernel access you can do cool stuff with your console and i also like to have kernel access just for the sake of having administrator rights over my console. Stuff like adding gba games that werent even released

Yeah sure you can pirate with a cfw but you can also pirate on the latest firmware with sky3ds or any card emulator. But i rather have control over my console than a piracy device that does nothing but emulate game cartridges.(well its useful for running ninjhax and testing it without cubic ninja, but thats it)

True, imo it's a bit moot to try and hold back a kernel exploit because people will pirate with it when there's already piracy methods. Like trying to plug a hole in a dam with your finger to prevent a flood when there's already several gaping holes in it, you know?

Wait, Sky3DS works on 9.9/10.0? That's a new one on me; I don't keep up with flashcarts too much but I was under the impression you were locked to 9.2 and below if you wanted to use one while being able to update your emunand for game compatibility. Am I an idiot and just thinking of Gateway?

Yeah, you can use sky3ds on latest firmware, but its just a game cart emulator, doesn't even have a software menu, only gateway (A cfw that uses a flashcard as a key to use it and can run 3ds roms from it) and cfw need below 9.2 firmware for a kernel exploit, but i really want a kernel exploit because i opened my 9.2 3ds that was updated to 9.9 by accident, and wrecked it after hardmodding it to restore 9.2 nand, if there was a kernel exploit then my 3ds wont be broken because i could of just use a software based nand flasher

Yeah, only blargsnes and gameyob here on 3ds xl are good, even the snes emulator is better than the nes one, and no good gba gameplay

I'm one of those people, lol. I primarily got Ironfall/hax as an excuse to play around with homebrew until a kernel exploit was discovered, be it from somebody here poking through Ironhax/Tubehax's source code to see if Smealum was hiding something or someone else discovering another method. So now I wait with bated breath and wade through the throngs of "it will never happen give up all hope sell your 3DS and buy a 9.2 3DS" posters while waiting for a kernel exploit.

Yeah, im just wondering about the owners of the official nintendo devkit, how do they install their beta versions of their games, do they have a kernel loader on the latest versions? Im just looking down at this xl, wishing it was on 9.2 and hackable. At least i have ironhax installed, and i blocked nintendo update

Lol..no actually its pretty sweet for people who wants to play backups even on latest firmware. You can put as many games as you want on the microSD, to switch games all you have to do is click the button on it.. dont know why it would be disgusting when with it you can play loaded roms on the latest fw

Im sure he just prefers a software loader,but i prefer kernel exploit to this as home menu choosing games is easier and you can install homebrew to home menu and also play gba and inject gba games and install gba games - i just want mother 3 and alttp and super mario world on 3ds , and the gba versions of them, but a sky3ds costs just as much as an exploitable 3ds, 100 dollars

I just want to be able to use rxtools on 9.9 , loading through ironhax will be awesome

Maybe Smea found a kernel exploit in 9.9 and released ironhax, but what if he made it userland to stop nintendo from patching it?

Yeah, me too, i just want to use rxtools so badly since i obtained this 9.9 xl (today i did), now i have to lug around my ds lite as well just to play mother 3, if smea is anti piracy how come pasta worked on ninjhax 1.1, and maybe he is just making the exploit userland to keep nintendo happy and so they dont patch it, ill happily work on a kernel exploit in my free time if i can do it, but not in the next few weeks. I miss my aqua blue 3ds with 7.1 downgraded to 4.5 and using rxtools 2.x

edit: One question: Is there a way to get CFW on 9.2 or below without Cubic Ninja? Just wondering since I think my friend has a 9.2 3DS and I would love to set it up for him.

Well, why not have ALL the hacks, i had them all at one point until i lost them and now i only have tubehax and ironhax... Well im just playing Earthbound with BlargSNES, its quite cool. What if we make a backup loader on homebrew loader, like wiiflow or these wii backup apps for homebrew channel, 3ds is very similar to the wii with its title systems.
Like:
Both have NAND systems and can run an emulated NAND
.cia = wii .wad
.3dsx = wii homebrew channel boot.wad
both use nand
both have titles systems
both have hardmods and softmods
I feel they work similarly, a 3ds is like a portable wii to me. About that, anyone know how to power a wii with a rechargeable battery? And what battery to use

If you turn off the 3ds without exiting the demo it doesn't take count as a play turn?

Yeah im quite sure about that that its not counted. Thats great, maybe i should download it off eshop, but im on 9.9, no firmware spoofing OR emunand. at least i have ironhax

Hey i got a new idea. Will this work? I "emulate" the nintendo update servers by redirecting their addresses via proxy to my pc which is hosting the 9.2 update files and click update on the 3ds. Quite sure it wont work (does it have protection against this?), but maybe? Sysupdater can downgrade as well on devmode with firmlaunch off and no patches applied with no problem at all. Now then, tell me why this wont work and if you don't then i will get to work on this if you tell me to go for it or there aren't any problems with it. Please so i can go and do it (Also looking for someone with a working hardmod on o3ds to test this)
