Wow. I'd read some about it a while back, but wasn't aware it was going to be a horror-adventure. And those are the first screens I've seen. Square Enix + horror-adventure? Sounds god-damn good to me!

EDIT: Just checked out the trailer on GameTrailers, and it looks really cool they way they're using the two screens synced up like that and in book-style. I hope we see an English version.

I thought that you couldn't do 3D well on 2 screens....
Never heard that before. Also the new Gauntlet game uses 3D on both screens.

I looked up wikipedia:

The 3D hardware is designed to render to a single screen at a time, so rendering 3D to both screens is difficult and decreases performance significantly. The DS is generally more limited by its polygon budget than by its pixel fill rate. There are also 512 kilobytes of texture memory per screen, and the maximum texture size is 1024x1024 pixels.

The system has 656 kilobytes of video memory and two 2D engines (one per screen). These are similar to (but more powerful than) the Game Boy Advance's single 2D engine. However the cores are divided into the main core and sub core. Only the main core is capable of vertex 3D rendering.

Yes, its hard to render 3d on both screens at the same time but its not impossible, is it?
So, i've seen Gauntlet's demo and its 2 screens 3d! So its possible!

the DS wasn't built for high quality graphics... i'd be skeptical about a low res horror game.

DS=good gameplay
PSP=good graphics
which is why i bought a DS.

(the only game i ever found scary was fatal frame on the ps2)

Imgine the lawsuits if someone actually dies within 7 days...

fix'd

This game seems to be even more atmospheric than Dementium ! If it will be only half as smooth as Dementium it will be da game for me.

Hm, I don't know if I'll like the controls if they stay like this. Judging from the trailer and the demo it's more like analog simulation than mouselike controls we're used to from DS FPS games, guess it's because they're aiming for a full stylus controls so instead of using the DPad you walk by leaving the stylus in the center. Hm.

Looks interesting tho and might be a good game, I'd prolly be qutie happy if they localized it.

Also 3D on both screens is not that complicated on the DS, the only downside is that if you have your game running on 60fps on one screen then it will be running only at 30 on both and you simply can't allow any more slowdowns.

You don't need good graphics for a good horror game, sound can help immensely and that is what SE are doing with this, Dementiums sound worked well with scaring some people who played it. And then there is the actual story, if they can get the effect of being isolated that could also work.

Of course you'll need headphones and play in the dark.
