Hacking Spoonfed instructions?

Before you say anything, I've tried searching all over these forums.
I want to install RX on new 3DS. I've downgraded, I have slot0.bin, but not firmware.bin. Someone I knew gave me a firmware.bin, but apparently it only is comptaible with old 3DS. People say to check the MD5 to a specific version, but... that doesn't make sense to me.
All I need to do is get the firmware.bin, launcher.bin, slot0.bin, and rxTools.dat onto the root, and go on the 3DS browser and install it?

Then you shouldn't be touching sysupdater.

Yeah, maybe she/he is right. In one of the forums it even says "If you don't understand this then you shouldn't be trying this".

People say to check the MD5 to a specific version, but... that doesn't make sense to me.

If you're on a Windows PC, download and install this:
http://implbits.com/products/hashtab/

Then right click a file, properties, file hashes tab & make sure the MD5 matches 100% with the listed MD5 for all of your files.

...and what does sysupdater have to do with anything? If you took two seconds to read my post you'd see I've been downgraded.
