Okay, before I begin, I should note that I legally purchased and downloaded this game from Ubisoft's store about a year ago. But since then, my activation key has expired and Ubisoft, being the wankers they are, refuse to give me a new key. So, at this point, what I'm about to ask is a very grey area as far as legality goes. After I installed the game, it force-updated Splinter Cell to 1.04, along with the game launcher itself, which prompted me to enter a nonexistent key. My question is, despite having legally obtained a game I paid for, what can I do to get this game working? I know I will need to resort to shady methods, but what do you guys suggest I do?

And game companies say DRM is good.

For starters, it might be a good idea to prove that you really do own an activation key. I'm sure a picture would suffice.

not that i know better, if you bought it off ubisoft on an account wouldnt you log into your account, look at your past order and find the key somewhere? most places i seen sell digitally on an account basis usually store it somewhere safe for you

Clarky is right, you should be able to view your past purchases and your CD key will be there.

What do you mean by "expired"? As in "I've used it on too many PCs" or "There was a time limit and mine ran out"?

If I'm understanding it right, it's something along the lines of:
You bought this game and it's yours forever, but after XX/XX/201X you can't activate it on any additional computers.

Well, I hope I can find information of my past orders or at least some way to prove that I bought the game. I might need to get a hacked .exe since the game requires an internet connection, and the connection I have right now is just as bad as dial-up.
