Edit the IP, then press F5 on your keyboard.

Here is how I have done that:
First of all: The cheat is from @GoldCobra
It changes the progress bar. You will need to this one or two times.
The code is: 12CDB1A4 05F5E0FF
This will change the progress bar to 99999999. After that you play some round something online. After you have done this, it will add 99999999 and you should be level 50. (If not: Do it again.) I don't know if this code is correct because I can't access my computer right now. Edit me if the code is wrong. And I don't know if this will ban you. It didn't banned me (yet). It should work on all levels but I don't know. I've tested it with TCPGecko only so I don't know if other methods are working.

I tested this code with two accounts and got to Level 50 easily (starting from Level 15 and 33). I'm not banned yet. I have heard someone got a temp ban because of hacking in a private room, probably due to desync issues or something.

Yes, they should!
Just remember the bans...if you're going to use them, it's you taking a bit of a risk! I'd say simply avoid the colorizer {colorhax} and all gear, weapon coins and etc hacks. For now, the only safe one should be octohax, You may be wondering about colorhax but Nntendo can still detect that...sometimes.

After some investigation, I can more or less say that you'll only get banned if you actively try to join a match with gecko installed. However, please still be cautious of what you're doing to your gear/save.

TCP Gecko, pyGecko, whatever you want to call it. The exploit you'd run on your Wii U. Do not run that for the time being

So, I did snails clothes and level cheats, si if I get banned, 2 weeks later if I dont cheat more, i could play normally with my "old" cheats and dont get banned?

They have all an anti-cheat detector
