I've no clue as to why this would ban your 3ds, I don't think they can detect your browser version and ban you for it, I don't think they can, but they can detect games that have been changed if you add a "weird and obvious" cheat code... but ban you just fot the browser version I think not! But I can't garantee nothing...

You should backup your firmware because you're installing a previous version of the browser over the current version, and these are system data, something can always go wrong, though unlikely, they CAN happen... like 1 in a bilion tries... maybe...

Then you'll probably have to buy a new one.
Look man, I did this like 12 times wrong untill I got this right, none of those times my 3ds bricked, it just didn't oppened the browser and asked to update the 3ds(wich now you shouldn't do, but also using this tutorial you won't have to). Plus I haven't seen a single soul saying their 3ds bricked when trying to install this browser!
Everyone always says you should backup your firmware because using any unofficial program has a chance of messing things up (Hell even using official programs there's a chance of screwing everything up!)
So take a chill pill, relax, and gut up to do it... otherwise you'll never do it and look sad at the children who did it and are now enjoing.
Really, the change of bricking your 3ds is infinitesimal.

the easiest way is use 8.1 emunand if you have a spare SD card
