When are developers gonna stop being lazy pull their finger out and hack this console. With the way games are at the minute we NEED a hacked Switch 2 with piracy and homebrew support NOW

You have no clue how much work this requires and how the hacking scene works as a whole. Even if there are already exploits, they will be patched if devs came forward with them. It's not worth the risk getting an exploit out this early into a console's lifespan. Also pushing for piracy is a big part of the problem too, I'm not saying Nintendo is a company we need to defend for their scummy and shitty practices. Whenever piracy is involved Nintendo is unfortunately within their legal right to disable devices and sue developers. Which then screws over the homebrew scene.

If you bought a Switch 2 thinking it'd get hacked right away so you don't have to pay for games, I'd consider you delusional.

Yeah that post reeks of peak entitlement. Given what's going on inside there from what I've picked up reading others comments, you'd have to have brain damage to think that was going to broken out of the gate or even at this rate too. Don't like it, don't buy the games and let it rot or sell it.

So if a exploit happen, do you think it would be hardmod or softmod? Consider softmod on Switch 1 is still impossible after 7 whole years, pretty sure hardmod is the only way to go here right?

it's not impossible. It's just no one has bothered implementing it again (there is a public method working up to 4.1.0) already that is softmod, without RCM or modchip required)

and that one theoretically was functional up to 8.1.0, no one bothered implementing it, and recently i believe up until 20.0.0 or something similar there definitively was something worthwhile to work with, but again, it's a "why re-invent the wheel" situation, when your console can be hacked with a raspberry pi. (rp2040 / "picofly" / "hwfly"), or is one of the millions of switch units vulnerable to the RCM bug.

Before this is taken out of context: this is a ROP exploit. People already accomplished this on day 1 of the console release and doesn’t mean anything really for fully jailbreaking the console.

No, literally no software exploit has been found yet, and it's very unlikely because apparently Nintendo for once did a good job in securing their software (after all, the Switch 2 OS is based on the 1's, and as you said the last known ones are for firmwares from several years ago)

Userland is cool. This is Gezine so likely to get reported to Nintendo and revealed a ways down the line. Though userland would allow access to basic homebrew. So homebrew games and emulators and such. Though KEX is likely gonna be a ways away (probably for the better).
It will not allow access to basic homebrew or emulators. Stop this nonsense.

it still nothing and useless.
A userland that works on all fws and doesn’t require a specific game or update is very much useful

Especially for those who can research kernal deeper. Just because you can’t pirate games yet doesn’t mean it’s nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sadly piracy is really all most people care about. Though that falls under the reason I want this system to take a while to crack. I got so tired of "X game has leaked early" posts or snarky posts from people quite literally bragging about being pirates.
