Hacking Official [Source Release] ReiNand CFW

It would be appreciated a tutorial with all steps, because I have looked at the author's website and I have not understood the most important parts, besides not explain anything about the New.

Eh, dumping the otp isn't hard on o3ds especially as I did it without a hardmod or guide. On N3DS I won't touch it without a hardmod so I'm sending it in soon.

Considering this specific CFW is for N3DS only, my statement still holds true for nearly everyone in this thread.

You could simply configure rxtools, cakes, or the reinand o3ds mod. It's what we're working on currently.

I watched the video Rei released early hours showing off arm9loaderhax booting to ReiNand in around 8 seconds on his N3DS, in the video it states clearly the word emuNAND, thing is i thought the whole idea of arm9loaderhax was to run directly on sysNAND

Or... is it a case of he is choosing to use an emuNAND ?

You can choose either, but emuNAND is pointless except as a backup or for experimentation.

Yeah, unless arm9hax will also allow you to change the sysNAND's region. If not, emuNAND will still have its place.

Until an arm9 hook is added. Perhaps someone can make a simple CIA homebrew that swaps out alternate payloads then triggers a reboot. It would be usefull for switching to/from emunand.

I would like to write something like bootctr for arm9, but I need to have enougth time, to do it.

I read somewhere that it wasn't possible since the SecureInfo_A file is technically unsigned, so it would prevent the system from booting on 9.3+.

With arm9loaderhax you can load a modified sysnand as everything could be sigpatched before it even boots.

A9lhax patches sysNAND very early on the boot chain. You can update to the latest sysNAND and it'll still be patched.

Yes. It gives full access to most if not the whole system. @shinyquagsire23 can a9lh be installed via 3dsx on 10.5 and above? Just would like some clarification if there's anything stopping it from installing on 9.3+ as I've only seen people install it on 9.2
