Dumb question, but after updating all files, how do we know it's running on 10.2?

You mean the 10.2 FIRM? Well, for one, if you updated your firmware.bin and it boots, that's the most obvious way. The second way to test is to install FreeMultiPatcher 0.6 Beta 3, it shows the kernel running. It should say 2.50-9 if you're on 10.2 FIRM. Thirdly, you can try running games that need this FIRM, like certain demos that people said weren't working.

Also rei removed the splash name before the version?

Bug, not removed on purpose.

@Reisyukaku delivers!:P
And here's an updated mod:
http://www13.zippyshare.com/v/IOUq9pnz/file.html
I cleaned it up further, as (as I saw from Cakes) the mpu patch is not needed for sysNAND without the arm9 thread. Also, I reversed L and L+R as I saw that new FIRM on sysNAND has no drawbacks (it had to be expected, as Gateway uses it), HBL works too. If for some reason you need the FIRM from SysNAND (the 9.0 one) it's now loaded with L+R. L boots SysNAND with the 10.2 FIRM.
There is no sysnand mode anymore though :x

I got a bit lost, I read somewhere that ReiNand supports screenshots, but I couldn't find anywhere the combination of buttons required in order to take one c:

I can take them through NTR menu though but still wanted to confirm is it supported on New3DS running 3.0

ReiNand supports screenshots in only a few games (Pokémon games only, I think?), but the key combo is Select + X.

EDIT: use BootCtr, and set a delay of 150. This works really well for me (and 150 is the same delay Decrypt9 uses)

I'm experimenting with this in conjunction with D0k3's BrahmaLoader for ReiNand and it seems to boot more consistently than CTRBootManager, but I'm still testing. Do you just use the 3dsx that compiles along with Reinand?

Edit: Just noticed BootCTR can boot .dats directly. I'll give that a go.

I have a really good bootrate with the .dat. BootCtr is good, as it has up-to-date CakeBrah, libkhax and compiles against the latest libctru (CBM is almost 2 months old). So it's more stable.

I know he knows...
I'm just not quite that familiar with commits and Github
I just saw now that his change wasn't committed yet.

It's about 90% for me it looks like. Maybe a bit better. Hopefully someday we'll have 100% boot rates for every 3DS, 2DS, and N3DS. :P

I'm not sure it can be possible to ever reach 100% :P On my console, menuhax itself is less stable than the kernel exploits haha (as one time out of 10 it goes to a white screen, which is in the ROP payload, even before BootCtr is loaded).

Oh, definitely. Again, here's hoping! As for boot rates, I'm under the impression new 3ds units have way better boot rates overall. Even menuhax, which is quite finnicky in my original one, boots nearly 100% of the time. Reinand itself has crashed like once or twice in all my testing so far. I'm loving all this hunting around for good hb to try out, I missed it all! =D

Also, is it normal for the boot image just not to appear sometimes or rapidly flash? It doesn't seem to affect other behavior, but I did find it a bit odd. Of course, no big deal.

Hmm I can't say much as I never hacked a O3DS but I guess with the hardware differences it makes sense :o Glad you're having fun though and like ReiNAND, I've been on the hunt for new homebrew all the time too :D

And yeah that happens sometimes, I have a feeling sometimes ReiNAND boots too fast which causes it to happen :P

I don't seem to have boot issues with CTRbootmanager with the rxtools offset 12000 always boots for me.
