Hey everyone,

I recently came across a post where someone got nillusr's Android port running on the Nintendo Switch using a wrapper. I have to say, that's an incredibly smart and impressive approach. It probably would have saved me a lot of time.

That said, I had a different idea more than six months ago. Instead of using the Android version, I started porting nillusr's Source Engine project natively to the Nintendo Switch.

I'm still far from finished, but seeing that post motivated me to finally share my current progress with all of you. I simply love Half-Life, and I've always wanted to be able to play it natively on the Switch.

There's still a long road ahead, and I have much bigger plans for this project. But one step at a time.

Feel free to check out the video!

Just as a small update: Half-Life 2 itself already gets as far as the train station. It crashes there at the moment because a number of engine systems are still missing. I'm focusing on getting everything working first, and once the foundation is solid, I'll start tracking down and fixing the remaining bugs.

I’m on vacation next week. If I can get a build working by then that at least launches both single-player and multiplayer, I’ll probably upload it.

The only thing I’m unsure about is whether that could be an issue, since it’s based on a leaked version of the engine. From what I understand, though, Valve has been tolerating it.
