Hi all!

I am looking for a programmer who could lend me a hand to unpack the english script, texts from the PC version and import it into the japanese PSP version.
Currently we have an Ao no Kiseki, Zero no Kiseki and Nayuta no Kiseki translation on PSP, so only the Sora no Kiseki 3rd left :)
I can help in the porting but I am not a coder so i need a little help from someone to make a tools for this great game because my opinion is that playing this Sora no Kiseki 3rd on PC is a sin. Sin against the console JRPG world :) Its an original console game so most of us would like to play it on console.(PSP)

to do list:

1.- unpack the PC's .dat files DONE
2.- get the texts from PC files DONE
3.- unpack PSP iso DONE
4.- get the texts from PSP files
5.- modify the japanese texts to english
6.- repack the text files
7.- repack PSP iso
8.- create english patch file

This website has a tool from falcon that can unpack the data files. Just leave the control panel alone and drag and drop the file to unpack. The tool was mainly for images, but it will extract ALL files
Thank you.
I have succesfully unpacked the PC and the PSP iso to. I got the text files from both version. .dt files. I dont know how can i handle these files.

Btw because the text file names are the same in both version i will try to simply replace the PC files into the PSP version.

You will find a lot of the images in the pc in one one the largest files at the bottom of the file list.

So for the PSP version my guess is the scrip is inside the se folder. The ed6se.vag files. There's 3119 files.

Ok guys i made a to do list in my first post.

I succesfully got the english texts from PC version. You can find it here:

So the next step is unpack the texts from PSP's files.
@sephurcin: are you sure that these .vag files contain the texts?

I tried to rename these .vag files to.sn and unpack them with the SNtoCSV python script (its work with the PC files) but wihout success.
I uploaded here the tool and scripts for PC version and also i attached a .vag sample file from PSP version.

Holy Shiptlitz! You're actually doing this!
I'd definitely going to look forward to this post from now on!

Huge Trails Fan here! And I already have the PC version running on my slowass laptop but dang would I love to play this on my PSP!

I know there's not much interest/demand for the third game on the PSP but consider me as one of your followers from now on!

Open the files with Crystaltile with encoding set to Shift-JIS or UTF-8 instead of Western Europe/System Settings.
Try changing a few to see if English works in game.

Then try to figure out what text pointer format this uses (you'll have to look it up in various romhacking sites) and set a competent dumper script for the text (with Atlas / Cartographer). Experiment to discover what each part in that unknown script file does and don't be afraid of breaking things (but keep backups just in case, for when you go serious).
This is a wonderful learning opportunity for you.

I tried but without luck :(

Holy Aidios! Even d Falcom took a year translate the 3rd. My best wishes are with you.
P.S : I completely agree with you, playing a console JRPG, especially something like The Trails series is a heinous crime. You have my support in this noble cause.
