    Sony dvd-r are on sale at best buy this week for 50 for $12. I thought I'd pick them up since my Memorex dvd+r are completely unreliable. So are sonys good? I hate getting DRE!

    i used that once i burned a copy of freeloader

    it worked well

    but im not sure

    I also had problems with Memorex DVD+R.
    Bought some Sony DVD-R and they're working great

    Copying my post from the other thread (the one that only had "no" as an answer)

    I use a lot of Sony discs.
    Sony DVD-Rs made in Malaysia with manufacturer ID Sony16D1 have never failed me.

    Of course you can't tell the manufacturer ID when you buy but you can see where's it made.
