Many people think that the current PSN design is subpar, especially when compared its more flashy rivals. Well, if you are one of these many malcontents, I may have some good news for you. Sony are currently market- testing a design layout that does away with the current text- heavy version instead opting for a “more image driven” layout to help bring it more in line with its contemporaries, Steam and Xbox Live.

The supposed changes include live search (with results appearing as you type rather than when you search) and IMDB-esque database for movies, allowing you to search for movies by lead actor, director excreta.

A similar system will also be in place for downloadable games with gamers able to search by publisher, developer, genre and so on.

What do you guys think? Excited for the new PSN or do you like the PSN the way it is already? As always, let us know in the comments below.[/p]

Meh. Sony has always needed to do this. As long as it doesn't influence my online play and is still up tommorow so i can download uncharted 3. I think they need to look at changing the xmb too.

Eh, I think it's fine the way it is, as long as they don't have some horrible background image like they did a few days ago with an inFamous 2 one that made everything barely readable.

they said a black background with the UI having vibrant colors

So they change that yet don't implement features like cross game chat and speeding up the XMB entirely (Not just the network area, the entire thing)

Meh, I suppose that's never gonna happen...

I thought that PSN had the best layout of the bunch... Xbox Live has a bunch of random crap spread around the menus, and the WiiShop really has no sense of direction. At least PSN organizes a lot of things.

PSN is okay to me, I like it just the way it is.

I don't really like XBL... but the kinect hub is a whole different experience I must say.

Sony what the Frye are you thinking? The PStore is already better than Steam and the xblive market. Hell it's far better than the nintendo eshop.

Flashy rivals, like Nintendo Wi-Fi connection! *Yeah, I said it... ¬_¬*
Hmm... What flashy rivals? :3

But it was fine before, the only thing they needed to do was get rid of that grouping crap they do(Like when you go into add-ons and it's got A-G and then H-#) and it would be perfect.
