Now that you mention it, I guess it's only an implication.Ikki said:I don't see where that says it's for the 3DSSoulSnatcher said:Ikki said:I don't see where that says Shinobi is coming to the 3DS.![]()
It is pretty obvious that it is for the DS.Ikki said:I don't see where that says it's for the 3DSSoulSnatcher said:Ikki said:I don't see where that says Shinobi is coming to the 3DS.![]()

I don't see where that says it's for the 3DSRight above the huge "SONIC GENERATIONS"
It reads:
QUOTEThe Blue Blur speeds onto Nintendo 3DS in an anniversary event 20 years in the making

The list says classic revivals. And the Wii still has a year to go before it's successor comes out.SoulSnatcher said:It is pretty obvious that it is for the DS.Ikki said:I don't see where that says it's for the 3DSSoulSnatcher said:-snip-Ikki said:I don't see where that says Shinobi is coming to the 3DS.
- It's in a list with Megaman Legends (a 3DS-exclusive game)
- It's a Nintendo magazine so there are only three possible platforms (Wii, 3DS and DS). The DS and Wii are consoles/handhelds that are getting phased out so it makes sense to assume it's for the 3DS.

It won't use the same engine, I'm sure the 3DS can't take it.granville said:The question here is whether Sonic Generations 3DS will be a port of the 360/PS3 version. The HD version uses the "Hedgehog Engine" which powered Sonic Unleashed and gave that incredible sense of speed. Or whether SEGA will just hire Dimps and gimp the game for the 3DS market (perhaps pull a Sonic Rush/Colors DS and just make it 2D and nothing like the console at all. Wii got a totally different version of Unleashed made by Dimps and it was considerably different (and not as good).
I figure 3DS can probably pump out some really great visuals that replicate the style at least, but i'm curious as to whether it's the same engine.

I'm curious about the engine actually. Capcom got their MT Framework engine running on 3DS with some major tweaks and even got the RE5 demo running, a feat they claimed could not be done on Wii. I wonder if SEGA managed to get the Hedgehog engine modded enough to run on 3DS.Ikki said:It won't use the same engine, I'm sure the 3DS can't take it.granville said:The question here is whether Sonic Generations 3DS will be a port of the 360/PS3 version. It may have either a toned down version of the engine or a built from the ground engine specifically made for the 3DS to use with future games.
Either way, it has to be 2D and 3D since it's what the title is based on. What would they make if not, just change the characters? I don't think Sega is that stupid.

Sent them the idea!!!!!dgwillia said:I kind of liked the Sonic DS games......they werent bad, but they werent great either. (Atleast compared to the awesome GBA ones)
No idea how they plan to make this game play, but if they include a Portable Chao Garden, im sold

In the pessimistic side of things, this could possible be JUST a classic Sonic game and only 2D. As in not even have the modern 3D Sonic bits at all. We really can't say anything about it yet until we've got shots/videos. Sonic Colors was made on the DS with the Rush engine, anything's possible here. The NP cover art doesn't have modern Sonic on it...![]()
I felt the Colors engine on Wii was very well done and a decent substitute for the Hedgehog engine. Would be neat if they could port the game to that engine and put it on 3DS. We'll see.

Because Epic doesn't want an older version of their engine to be used in their games. For them if it can't run UE 3, it can't run UE.Juanmatron said:3º Epic says they can't port UE to 3DS, but Ubi Soft did. Heck, they even ported UE 2.x to the GCN/Wii.
