I'm new to modding a Wii U, so please bare with me. If it helps, I do have experience with using cheat codes via Gecko on the Wii (not vWii). I have read the pinned topics, but I'm still a bit unclear, hence, why I'm asking here.
My Wii U is currently on firmware 5.5.1U. I know that 5.5.2U patches some things in previous releases, so I'd like to know a few things:
1) How would I block my console from updating its firmware, but at the same time, continue allowing it to update games? I'm thinking about using the DNS/TitleDB(dot)com method but I'm not sure if it fits my needs and/or is the best way to do so.
2) I'm interested in using cheat codes just like how you could use codes on a Wii using Gecko. How do I do this on a Wii U and is there a site for me to find such codes?
3) I currently use Loadiine GX2 and have files stored in my SD card. If cheat codes are supposed to be saved in an SD card, can I use the same card for both Loadiine and cheat codes or will I need two separate cards?
4) Do I need to install the Homebrew Channel (or whatever it is called for the Wii U) to accommodate my needs? (It's okay if I have to)
Thanks!
