Yeah I've read all the guides and I don't remember it saying that.

Thanks for the answers, that's all I need to know!

You can still use the MMS for games, as the only difference is that there are a few tiny files in a 'ghost partition' on the stick. Personally, I prefer to reformat to normal. It's easy enough to make magic again at any time.

You can also use your MicroSDHC card for playing your games. The difference will just be that it will be slightly slower in the loading times. There are quite a few topics where people posted their speed results for comparing various MS and MicroSD card results. No matter which you use, it'll still be faster than loading from UMD. Just beware that a MicroSD card has a much shorter (i think it was something like 20%, off the top of my head) read-write lifespan than MS cards, due to the fact that it's so small (I've got 4, and the first 2 are already starting to go bad after 3/4 years but my 8GB MicroSDHC is still working great).

Also in my opinion, CFW is much, much better than using a flash cart, even considering the M3 Sakura's standard in flashware. I just wish that the same technique could be applied to other consoles than the PSP and PS2.

Make sure the memory stick you're gonna use for Magic Memory Stick supports MagicGate, otherwise it won't work. Noname brands don't.
Also, MicroSD adapters don't either.

EDIT: If you're going to get a MicroSD to MS Pro Duo adapter, get the dual slot one

I got my PSP today and I've just installed CWF on it (wahaay!) and I got a few q's:

- I checked the system settings to see if it says 3.80 M33-5 and it does but why does it say 'kolitha' as the nickname?? Is this normal?

- I tried updating the CWF through the network settings and it said 4.01.pbp not found, get from internet? so I did and got an error message and my PSP rebooted, still on 3.80. This happen to anyone else?

- And am I just cracking out or was the X and O buttons swapped??

1. Yeah when you install CFW it changes the name, just change it back.
2. Manually update it then
3. Change that in the Recovery Menu

OK thanks.

Another thing - I just tried putting my FFVII eboot.pbp file (converted from .ISO) into PSP/GAME and when I check it in the XMB it says it's corrupted. Any clues why?

EDIT: nvm fixed.
