Hello, before few years my PS2 broke and I've given away all of my games.
One day I was watching some PS2 games on youtube, and decided to purchase a new one (or used, but working).

So, after finnaly I found somebody that is willing to sell this console for affordable price (and also in my country, because buying from ebay costs + $60 for shipping)

Now, the problem is that the console is not modded in anyway. Nobody I ever known ever owned Action Replay Max or any other cheat disk for softmodding a ps2. They all are too expensive to buy.

The thing I found : http://www.ehow.com/how_6731556_softmod-ps2-action-replay-max.html

Can anybody tell me, if the method will work. All I know for now is it's a PS2 fat.

I believe you can just use a network adapter + IDE hard drive if you have a fat PS2 to softmod. Which is ideal to have if you have a fat PS2 anyway...

ehow is a crap website (content farm). Their must of been a dozen things that were wrong in that article.

You need a way of running the Free McBoot installer, retail SwapMagic disc, someone with an already modded console, cheat disc with a game save backup feature & a retail PS1 game (fat PS2 only), Memor32 with memento firmware, network adapter & harddrive and a way of connecting the IDE harddrive to a PC, game swap trick, AR Max with media player.

I could create a Free MC Boot memorycard for you.
If you're willing to pay for the card + shipping (~15 quid)

Softmodding a PS2 without a cheatdisk/AR/007 Agent under fire (retail and modded)/Memor32 is impossible.

Thanks for info guys.
Sure, I will contact you when I will get my console (and some money)
