the CSM if you can call it that...its a few .tpl changes, which is basically the wii's container for graphics which can be done with a tool HowardC made and photoshop it aint a major thing.

the SoftMii tweak tool wasnt even coded by SoftMii lmao

Well here is what i think about softmii, my opinions...

Pros.
Somewhat noob friendly
A nice tutorial

Cons.
Not very noob proof, ie: people can be bricked easily with this
A huge package of other peoples apps, not their work. Not to mention the twilight hack which im sure marcan and bushing are not happy about this. As they are with all others trying to sell their twilight hack, but softmii is just bundling, which is still bad.
There is many other ways to "customize" or system menu, this is juts 1 way, may be easier or harder than other guides.
I really hate the fact that they have the soft loader channels for pirates zzzz

Themes on the Wii = well WiiShizza was the first person to figure out the health screen and its not really hard at all to do so thats the end of that. and regarding SoftMii theming...the first SoftMii healthscreen, the graphics was a WiiShizzza graphic injected by 20clarky08. and that dude aint around no more

Disc Channel Backups = ermm yer mate thats called corpcios btw and softmii had nothing to do with creating it.

The themes and health screen are from Healthii, Preloader is by Creditar, and the disc channel backups is CIOSCORP which I forgot who made it, but it wasn't the softmii guys! All they do is make themes that say softmii all over the frigging place and have that tutorial that's like a bad readers digest of tutorials

Have to agree. I finally decided to install Soft Mii a couple of months ago and immediately realized there's absolutely no reason for it. I already had all the features from other software. Not to mention it made my Wii menu ugly as fuck. Immediately uninstalled it.

Plagiarism is plagiarism whatever way you paint it and if they aren't crediting the people they're "borrowing" from then thats just wrong, why you'd need a "team" do it is beyond me. More so its a damn cheek for them to have that "donate" button on their site.

Unfortunately there are always lazy people which are drawn to such "packs" its not the first and it won't be the last. Its just the way it is, doesn't make it any more "right" though. If people want to take the moral ground over them though the best thing to do is draw attention AWAY from it, not TO it.

If OP is 100% correct in saying he got banned from their irc chan for writing a better guide then it just goes to show the calibre of people that are "working" on this thing.

I suppose the only good thing about it is that they aren't charging for it.
