I'm on a 4.2 wii and trying to play Rock Band Beatles from a disc and get the instruments to work. I installed ios 223, 56, and 36 v7. I tried using Neogamma. The game boots up fine but doesn't recognize the instruments. So I installed Softchip turned on error 002 and changed the ios to 223. When I try to boot the game I get an error. Exception: Ooctl Error. Am I doing something wrong?

Use NeoGamma and cIOS 249 d2x v6 final base IOS 56 to get it to work properly. The cIOS thread is sticky.

What Fix94 says. Neogamma only uses 249 (okay, it is possible to use another cIOS...but not through the GUI), so it doesn't matter what you install in other slots.

I don't know softchip, so I won't comment on it.

The instruments will work if you use a cIOS that uses IOS37 or IOS56 as base. NeoGamma only uses whatever you installed as IOS249, SoftChip allows you to choose which IOS or cIOS to use. But both only support Waninkoko's cIOS + d2x, and not Hermes cIOS, that's why IOS223 doesn't work.

Install d2x v6 with base IOS56 as IOS249, and the game should work fine in SoftChip and NeoGamma.

Final base? What does that mean?

Also, where would I download this?
The final v6, not the alpha v6 and not the beta v6

The d2x thread explain how to install it.

The d2x thread explain how to install it.
Actually, it only says how to install the Modmii way and not the homebrew installer. The homebrew installer just has a changelog. On the wiihacks page I found this:

- Insert the SD or USB in the Wii
- Load the HBC and load the d2x installer
- Select IOS36 or 236 to use during the installation
- Select cIOS to install i.e
- Select base IOS i.e
- Select cIOS slot i.e
- Press A to install

So would I change the base to 56, and the cIOS slot to 249? Would I select IOS36 or 236 for installation or would it matter?

Yes, that is correct, and you should be able to select any patched IOS for the installation (including your current 249)

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've gotten so many headaches over this.
