SoftChip.net is not the official site of the program.
It's a site related to Softchip with a link to a download page where you can find the last version of softchip (compiled).
The .dol is always tested before sharing.

You know that SoftChip is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License Version 3? Right now this page is violating the GPL, but you have 2 easy solutions to make it right:
1. Add the source to the download package or add a download link to the source
2. Add a link to the Google Code site

And if i were you i would correct the infos about SoftChip on the page, make a clear statement that the compiled .dol is generated by you with the official source and the .wad is created with this .dol. And make clear that both the .dol and the .wad are totally unofficial.

And about the .wad in the package, is it a legal channel? I'm asking because most are not and contain the nand loader from nintendo.

hi. i was wondering if there is progress on that new cios which was being made and mentioned somewhere earlier. thanks

No progress. Requiem is very busy with his job at the moment, and i guess that will take a few months.

Apparantly waninkoko has a new CIOS in the works (he mentioned in one of the gc loader threads).
Probably won't be released for a while though I'd guess.

Is the source available for what has been done so far? I like the sound of an open-source cIOS.

tried to download ready- *.dol and *.wad,
tried to collect myself

Test this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/197709236/Soft...r74r83.zip.html

and then tell exactly which version do not work with which games. What revision does it tell you IOS249 has? What's your Wii's region and what's the games' region?

Im using softchipr83 and when trying load HOD:Overkill I get Reading Playload... then "Exception: Iocrl error (DI_Read)".
The log above shows the gmae uses IOS 33. If I select IOS 33 I get an immediate "Exception: Iocrl error (DI_Read)".
Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I tried buring a quicker speed and it has loaded once out of several but crashes at into.
Thanks.

Different errors with different burns are burning issues. Update the firmware of your burner, get good DVD-Rs, and then find out which speed is the best for you. How old is your burner? (Don't tell me the model, tell me when it was first released)

It looks like your right.
I tried on 8 speed with the following

game's language :default
Set video mode: Disc region
The rest all disabled

and works a treat thanks for all your help

2 WiiPower: thank you!

wii&games pal, IOS 249rev7 , DVD-R (write on 2-4X)

Now check your version r83 boot.dol
works fine!

verify on Super Mario Galaxy and
Super Smash Brothers Brawl

still can not run Sam & Max
comes to selecting a scene - then restarts wii

when trying to collect himself using
AutoDevKit 3.02 build files
SoftChip83M.dol and wad

perhaps this 'M' problem?

r84 released.

The video modes used if you select disc region should be fixed now.

For PAL users with NTSC games and disc region video mode:
Now if the video mode in the Wii settings is progressive, NTSC 480p is used, else NTSC 480i is used. Before SoftChip always used NTSC 480i for PAL users, sorry.

For NTSC users with PAL games and disc region video mode:
The video mode should now be either PAL 480i or PAL 480p (depending on your wii settings). You shouldn't get the falling screen issue anymore, but if your tv doesn't support PAL, it's still black&white.

This doesn't involve any patching, it just selects the video mode to use in another way than before.
