My first post on this site...

I've been using SoftChip for a couple weeks and just noticed that it defaults to cIOS 248. If I try to switch (+), 249 doesn't appear in the list of available IOSs. Gamma03 says it is using IOS249 and deleteanyfile shows 249 as being installed. One of my backups is iospatched to 249 and causes SoftChip to crash hard (have to cycle power). Does anyone know why I can't get SoftChip to use 249?

I've been digging around on several sites, uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Hopefully someone will point me in the right direction.

I don't know where I'm going, but I'm making good time!

Sorry for the slow reply - I had to get some work done.

I downloaded the latest SoftChip from here - http://www.91wii.com/wiisoft/243998433/softchipR86.rar I was originally using something like R59 that came with 3in1softmod_R3. With R86 I only installed the .wad. I have not run the .dol. All my backups load except House of the Dead 2&3 which I have seen mentioned on several other forums. Anyway patching HOTD2&3 to 249 is what made me aware that my SoftChip installation doesn't like my cIOS249. Will running the .dol that was bundled with R86 effect the SoftChip channel?

The problem I was having was ios249 corruption (don't know how that happened). With that corrected, SoftChip is working great again. Now off to other threads to figure out what's up with HotD2&3.

OpenSource wii Rocks! Thanks!

What value should be in the line 166(configuriation.cpp) to configure de Default IOS 249. I am trying 249, IOS249, and after that I can´t compile it.

Thanks

Eh? You just press the plus (+) button on SoftChip and choose the IOS you want. It's going to load that IOS by default.

You can change the default IOS in Configuration.h (line 25), if IOS249 doesn't appear in the list when you press +, you don't have it. If you don't use a SD, it won't be used as default, you'll have to change it every time.

R87 is out. Finally Metroid Prime 1 is compatible with SoftChip, even if it still needs IOS Version patching.

* Changed the discID reading, now all 32 bytes of it are written into the
memory, this fixes Metroid Prime 1
* Made Disc Region Video Mode to the default video mode, renamed system settings
video mode to Force Wii Region Video Mode
* Added/changed a few comments

And i forgot to add to the changelog that i removed the video mode check, because it's useless, if a game contains a video mode it doesn't mean it's playable with it.

Without patient testers and even more important without a loader which does it right, i would not have been able to do it.

Does your SoftChip support multi iso disc as is?

Not yet. Dack is very busy with fixing some bugs in WiiScubber and i think WiiScubber needs a change for the discID stuff. When this is done, i think we are ready to add this feature to SoftChip, even if there still might be a problem with the savegames.
