Maybe you're using a decrypted game?

EDIT: If anyone compiles r35 I'll be sad.

It's only a credits change.

Hey guys. Here's a .rar with an icon.png and a meta.xml for your homebrew channel (if you don't already have them).

It also includes SoftChip (autoboot and manual). The name in the program should include the revision, as should the homebrew channel.

This is revision 34, by the way. http://sites.google.com/site/uninspiredori...me/SoftChip.rar
what is the cios i have to use .and this one works with 1:1 games?

I've only tested one game so far.
I didn't see anyone else mention it in these 30 pages so far.

I'm using SoftChip R34

Wario Land: Shake it (NTSC, 1:1)
Works almost perfect, so far, the audio/video skips during cut-scenes.

I'm guessing that is because of the cIOS and not the loader.

this loader does not work with jap games?
i have an european wii and i have used 1:1 oneichanbara revolution and did not work, why?

I just tried James Bond: Quantum of Solace(PAL) but I get the same disc read error that appears with Wiigator's loader.

My setup:

PAL Wii,
Firmware version 3.2E
Read retry cios

So do we know anyones thats beta testing gamma to find out if softchip will work with the new Cios? Or has that already been confirmed/known.

Forgive me if this has been answered...
Do users with mod-chips need any special configuration?

I ask because I have an NTSC Wii, 3.3U (+Wii Shop and IOS51 installer), and SoftChip r34.
Though, I also have a Wiinja Deluxe Limited Edition mod-chip inside my Wii.
Oh, and I have cIOS read-retry installed as my custom IOS in conjunction with Homebrew Channel Beta 9.

I have backup games (none are decrypted, all are 1:1 backups made onto Verbatim discs) which
fail to get read by SoftChip. I get the following error: "[-] Error opening partition" on all games.
I didn't try any retail non-backed up games, but I assume the mod-chip would be the issue.

Once again, I searched around, but nothing of relevance has came up, and the issue has been mentioned, albeit,
not quite answered and the user was told it was a decrypted game (mine were burned before the loaders existed.)

y the hell do u want a backup loader if u all ready have a modchip???

QUOTE(iritegood @ Nov 9 2008, 10:59 PM) Why the hell can't you learn to withhold your comment if you have nothing to contribute to the thread?

Actually, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but he may have a valid point...

Unless you have a modchip with an OFF switch, like the D2SUN, the software backup loader may *NOT* work as the modchip is already sending it's own pre-modified disc data to the IOS...

the ones that use solely the method for loading burnt discs do not work with chips, because the chip identifies every disc as a valid "Wii Optical Disc" and so the launchers reject it reading from that mode (and return DRE), however, the launchers with GeckoOS integrated will load them, because it includes retail disc loading, and loads them as such.....in this way, it means no real benefit is given to chippers, except for those who didn't already know about GeckoOS, and how it does some things like skip updates and bypass 001 error.

I must admit the idea of using this sort of software when you have a modchip seems a bit, doing things backwards... for one a modchip can run with the drive at full speed and with much greater compatibility than all current loaders.

But either way I consider getting it to work on Modchipped wii's is the last thing on the list of things to fix, it kind of defeats the purpose of using one in software if you already have a functional hardware one.

SoftChip only works with games from the same region as your Wii.
