Hacking Soft Mod For Me Not Working

Hi everyone,
I am running Firmware 3.4 on my NTSC USA Wii. I have tried the Twilight Hack on my Wii and it is not working. it keeps on saying failure to load boot.dol

says boot.dol not found (-1) reading boot.elf
failed to read boot.elf
no code found to load..hanging

So that is what it keeps saying so someone who has been helping me is speculating that I need the elf installer in elf format to make it work..if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it..thank U

i have same issue, but i was used an SD of 16Mb..
after few retry, i changed to a 512MB, and miracle... it is working.
you must verify that you use an SB bigger than 16MB and smaller than 2GB.

My SD card is 64mbs so what do I have to do..

I had this issue and fixed it ... somehow....

Heres what i suggest.

1. Try Using A Different SD CARD.
2. Make Sure you have a boot.dol or boot.elf on your sdcard. in the root of ur sd card (example X:/boot.dol (WHERE X IS THE LETTER OF UR SD CARD)
This can be downloaded from http://hbc.hackmii.com/download/
Download the .DOL file on the middle of the page after the twlight hack.
Extract it and put it in the root of ur sd card.

Ok so I FINALLY got it working, sorta, I reformatted the SD card, put in PRIVATE folder and the Boot.DOL file, it did work, went through it, and I pressed home and it restarted the wii, but I dont see any homebrew channel, I see everything that I saw before..what gives

Bumping up for any assistance. Perhaps the issue the whole time was that I needed to reformat the sd card, can I do it all again even though I already did it but for some reason did not show the homebrew channel??

You have a bad SD Card.


Get a new one.


That or, put the HBC installer .dol into THE ROOT OF THE SD CARD not inside the Private folder

READ THE DIRECTIONS. If tyoure not smart enough to know what to do by reading the walkthru that thousnands have working, then you really dont need to be modding a wii. If you can read it and get it to work, youre not a genius, just not stupid. which are you/???

What he said, If you cant read the directions, then dont even try it, it only gets harder from that part. (meaning if you decide to install Gamma, Softmii, ect.)

All thats needed is putting the boot.dol in the root, if you cant do that, then dont try it at all. Seriously.

I already got it to work, so this thread can be deleted..and no reason to be nasty calling me names. is that what I get for asking a question and yes it was the SD card, I reformatted it and it works great now
