Inner screen? You mean the LCD?
If it still has warranty and it's a pandorable slim, I'd say send it to Sony to have it replaced. It should be free (Well, excluding shipping) and plus they would probably replace it with an actual SHARP branded LCD screen, not some dodgy LCD that gets dead pixels in a few months.

But looking at the reviews, it does seem to be of good quality. But the problem is, when it says temporarily out of stock, it usually means permanently out of stock...

even if you did have warranty damage like that isn't covered since it is mostly the user's fault

I doubt that, I myself have fought off weasels with my PSP and there's not even a scratch on anything but the ring.
