I read somewhere its been pushed back till spring next year for europe and when i read that, a part of me died. RF3 was great but both RF1 and 2 were awful. Bright side is that i get to see all you guys tell me if its better or worse than RF3 and then forget about it because spring 2014 is when im praying that Monster Hunter 4 comes out and ill be in meltdown hype mode for that. Ill be fine without the game for now tho...

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY ISNT IT OUT HERE THIS MONTH?! :hateit:

if it makes you feel better rune factory 4 is 200% better than RF3. It basically takes everything that was good about RF3 and refines it and makes it better, honestly its more like RF3.5 than runefactory 4. Only disappointment is that there just wasn't a whole lot of new features.

That sounds more like what id enjoy! Are the "battle" areas bigger? That part of RF3 was fantastic, it felt like i was playing secret of mana again, especially with all the spells you could get and the bosses. I think if they have added more to that then its an instant buy for me, the villiage and romancing gameplay can stay the same because that was already pretty much perfect in 3, just want more exploration and spells you can learn and id be sold. Still sucks that both games im dying to play on my 3DS are out in other countries but not my own :(

I never actually got very far in RF3 but I know there seems to be a lot more exploring than before. Also only change to romance is you can establish long term relationships before marriage (IE dating).

Finally got this tonight and completed day one.If you're used to the battle mechanic, start on hard from the get go, beat the first dungeon, which I guess was supposed to be a request later on, but I had too much time to burn even after talking to everyone so I did what any typical adventurer would do :P and just breezed through it. That said, you might want to delay it a few days, or actually hold off running past the save spot after entering the initial dungeon. As for dungeon size, this one was smaller than the first dungeon on RF3, but in some of the zones there were a lot more room to fight in, others were a tight corridor so there are some variance. Also, how on Rune Factory 3 you could just swing a sword to get better at it, thus spending excess energy just before you nap, doesn't work on this game it seems. For that matter, I wasn't consuming energy at all unless I hit an enemy. Though that may be an in-dungeon/out of dungeon thing too? I'll add on this to later tonight as I complete a few more days but day one was the typical tutorial day, do a few things then get sent on your way.

Okay so I guess you can raise skills by using some things blindly, it's just bloody slow, though there are some things where I consume no RP, nor do I gain XP. Completed second dungeon, which was a nice change from first one actually. As a whole I don't know what to think about this game, though I'll recommend it if you love all things Rune Factory.

Finally first day of summer! Got raped pretty bad by my first typhoon, I'm hoping that was just a particularly bad one, otherwise it's the worse I have ever seen in a HM game. Game finally forced me to slow down dungeon-wise as I tend to my second field and gathering a large amount of stone and lumber for projects. My initial impression of this game was a bit bleh but it definitely picks up. It's giving me that feeling I used to get playing the old harvest moon games, which is very nice and rare.

Also is it okay to double/triple/so-on post if there's been a few days' span of no posts?

Has everyone decided on their future life partner?

I knew from the moment I looked into her sleepy eyes that Clorica had to be mine.

Forte's a close runner up though...If I ever start over I might dip my toe in her waters

I stream this game nightly on my twitch account. I normally announce on the shoutbox and reddit.

But I personally LOVE this game and I'm enjoying every second of it. Also, I'm marrying Forte for sure.

I'm split between Forte and Xiao Pie honestly. Though Forte gives me free hot milk when I take a bath while she's in my party, so i think she may be the winner :D

I had a day where instead of cherry petals and fire flies floating about, I had Runeys, tons of Runeys, and all my plants save for tree grew practically overnight. What is this and how do I get it more often? Internet doesn't show much about it :(

Finally slowed down quite a bit to do some mass gathering of materials to craft and build and junk. By the time I'm done I may be strong enough to breeze through next huge chunk of the game.

I think thats just something that happens after you get the first rune sphere. Not sure myself. I just know Ive gotten 2 of them and Ive had mass runeys 2 or 3 times.

Xiao Pie looks too much like a little kid for my taste, and if I were going the loli route, I think Amber is way cuter.

I don't know why, but EU gets a bum deal on the RF franchise- we only got PS3 Oceans and all the other games are a good year after America.
Oceans was a pile of disappointment after 3, RF3 is amongst my top 5 DS games

Especially after seeing her in her swimsuit, like lol wut, and here I was thinking Amber was kid-like. Though I don't know what loli is. Cuteness factor would be Doice but I don't care for her character. Forte makes me think almost too much of Sabre of FATE which I'm pretty sure she's based off of, but is a good dungeon companion, really only good NPC companion I found. May go Margaret instead..

Speaking of Swim Suit, did the U.S. release get gimped on seeing Lin Fa and Nancy like Fire Emblem did? At first I thought it was any who you could marry would be in a swim suit, but you get to see Illuminate(?) in her swim suit, which actually made me think she was an option there for a bit.

...Still havent picked this up. Maybe ill take a drive and do that tonight.

The story mode is rather short, though the last dungeon is rather long, I think you're supposed to beat it in parts and not one run like I did the others. I learned during that phase your character doesn't really have to sleep? What? Went three days without going to bed, waiting for my character to crash but merely caught a cold which was curable. Playing with end game content now. Arthur made mention of taming boss monsters, but tried in vain to figure that one out, may just be too weak to tame even the early game bosses. Halfway through the fall, spent a few days cleaning up my farm after my second typhoon, which raped my farm twice as hard as the first one did. Fourth tier of tools are a godsend, though I wish the screen was capable of holding far more items, at least the delay before they disappear was a lot longer.

I think I might place this game over the 3rd one in terms of enjoyment. If the post-game content is heavy, then it'll definitely beat out RF3. I only had a few real complaints, like not having access to magic/ability skill store until after you beat the game. I don't know if it was as a result of beating the game or if I finally met the requirement at that point, but that really sucked, since I was trying to go heavy on the magic end of things. Also I don't know if your skills in a weapon is taken into account when learning recipes from bread, I can only make five crappy longswords, and one spear, but can make plenty of weapons in other categories. That is annoying when making weapons for NPCs though I think end game monsters would outrank NPCs in town?

ALsO tHE EnD DIaLoG WAS AnnOYiNG aS HELl. <- Do not ever do conversations like that, all caps or lower case.

All in all this felt like what a Rune Factory game should have felt like. Got my Secret of Mana fix and Harvest Moon all in one go. I'll probably play this a few more days before I pick pokemon up.

Sadly it does not seem like you can. She was the first one to catch my interest, followed by Lin Fa.

Being able to tame boss monster is pretty pimp. Though figuring out what item to use without a guide is a bitch. Don't know how some of these people put that much effort into trial and error on this game unless there's hints I'm missing? In the middle of winter of the first year, about have Meg's heart maxed out so I can marry her, with a good number of skills maxed out. I am really curious what's behind the doors of this really expensive house you can apparently buy.
