You can't do really anything with it if you don't have a Infectus...

depends on the dump you have otherwise you can just put the sd in your pocket take it for walks the movies stuff like that when im lonley i talk to mine.
its only useful if you intend on getting an infectus or want something off it other than that you have a pointless file.
its only small so stick it in a corner on your pc you never know it may be handy one day

So if i have a copy of my nand and an infectus, i could use my nand later if i have a brick?

For example a full Brick or Banner Brick?

so i've been told an ecc dump with yawnd can be used to restore your nand but i've also read that no dumpers give a full dump as the nand is in use at the time of dump.

from what i gather you need an infectus to get a full dump to start with

i use fox's wadpacker, because its pretty easy to handle.
you must select your sd card an then you get a list of the titles on the sd...choose the title you want and click on create wad.

There are also other WadPackers, but e.g. the WaadPacker watermarks the genererated wad...so its never a real clean dump (scene release).
