I want to play maplestory and variuos other games with it now I've used xpadder, motionjoy and joy2key and neither of them worked am I missing sonethiing?

Maplestory has built in support for joypads. Can you confirm the controller actually works?
Edit: You may also need the program open before whatever game you are playing.

If it's not working with Xpadder then you're doing something wrong.

Like stated, you'll need a wireless adapter for your controller if it IS a wireless one. The cheap China ones do work, you just have to force them to use the official drivers, and they work perfectly (speaking from experience). They're about half the price of the (discontinued, afaik) Microsoft ones.

ok I tried out xpadder loaded maplestory didn't work and the two other didn't work either no idea what to do also I have the latest drivers installed

I had a similar situation. I'm your guy in this subject. EDIT: PM me if you still have troubles.
I use XPadder and have an old version I stored back when it was still freeware ^.^

First, if your controller's LED does not light up when you plug the USB into your computer, you need to install the Xbox 360 Accessory Driver.

Get it here:
Ironically, the website makes your choose your OS before downloading but the package is the same for every OS.

If you already did that and it doesn't work, get .NET framework and update your DIRECTX through dxweb.

Extend a helping hand, twice, and it doesn't even get acknowledged. Nice.

Yet, I feel compelled to say it again, despite my suggestions falling upon deaf ears (or blind eyes in this case), I would suggest you post a screenshot of your Xpadder configuration so we can see that you at least have THAT configured properly and knock one thing out of the equation. If you're using Xpadder and it isn't working still, you may not have bound the buttons properly/at all, since Xpadder emulates direct keyboard and mouse input. As far as Maplestory would be concerned at that point, you would tell it to not use the controller (uncheck the "use controller" option) because you're not using a controller anymore, you're using a keyboard and mouse via a controller.

Edit - I was even so nice as to upload a screenshot of my own config that I just set up for basic computer usage.

Chances are yours would look very different. I only bound half of my buttons, because this isn't a gaming profile (ironically, this is the base for what you would ideally want your Maplestory profile to look like, unless you want it southpaw, then just reverse the sticks). If you have nothing inside any of the squares, you haven't bound anything. If you have no squares, you haven't made a controller profile. If you've done both of those correctly, disable the checkbox in the game to use a gamestick. Back when they added that feature, it conflicted if you were using Xpadder (I think it would shut out the keyboard). Knowing Nexon, they probably haven't fixed it.

I feel the same way. However I'm tending to think it's a hardware issue/invalid setup configuration.
The user didn't say anything about the LED yet...
So I can't rule that out.
Asfar as MapleStory goes, I quit around v62 and I doubt Nexon has integrated "Joystick" support, so Xpadder is neccisary for MapleStory.

EDIT: I read through some of the posts and apparently they have joystick support now... That's scary.
If for some odd reason you can't see your PM's...:
I'm asking you (with your permission) to use TeamViewer Quick Session (A Run-Only non-install) so I can see your hardware configuration. If I can't figure it out, I will take screenshots for you and post on here for others to help out.

jonthedit, I played for two years, when I quit they didn't have it, but when I picked it back up for a few weeks they actually did have it as an in game feature. But like I said in my last post that I edited, iirc it conflicted with Xpadder if you had it enabled, and it worked like crap anyway. Xpadder was the way to go. And Controllers tend to be bad for mouse heavy MMOs like Maplestory and WoW.

It appears the user is being an AFKer...
Well he missed his chance for help ;)

@What you were saying....
I simply created a mouse script and used ?AutoHK? (I don't remember the exact name) to run it. It would run in real-time and easily helped me play. I added my skills to hotkeys with the ABXY set on Xpadder.

Best thing was being the only kid on the block with an AC to get me into LPQ back when that was around on my realm. I got all the parties from that XD

Did you disable joystick/joypad support in Maplestory?

It shows up as a virus? Then your AV must not like remote-control programs. Oh well.

Mind posting your hardware config ?
