SNES Power

Anyone got any ideas on how I can power my SNES without the AC Adapter? I have a 12v 1A power supply, I know the SNES is rated at 10v 750mA so it should work.

I found the power points, but I have no idea which is which?

you could always rip one of these apart and use it to as a DC-DC step down transformer

just solder the input side to the 12v power supply and the 10v output side to the SNES.

you most likely can get away with using 12v directly but the long term effects on the SNES by doing so are unknown.

as for which pad is negative on the SNES, I have no idea how you would test that other than having someone else look at their SNES and compare.

i bought a power supply on ebay for just under $8, guess not a bad deal.

The SNES power adapter says 10 volt but when I checked it with my multimeter it was outputting 12v volts. I have an SNES that I soldered a molex extension cable onto the power pads and plugged in an AC to molex adaptor to power it.

What's the problem with just buying a new adapter for it?
