I'm trying to play Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid on the SNEmulDS but it doesn't seem to work. Do I need a slot-2 card to play them or something? Help please.
They work for me fairly well. Though I believe SNEmulDS has a problem with the EZ 3in1 RAM at the moment and prevents games like Chrono Trigger from playing. Removing it will make the games work. Make sure you have the latest version of SNEmulDS and a clean dump of the game.

It has no problem with the ez 3in1 RAM, there is a setting in the .ini file that needs to be changed to allow chrono trigger to work with the RAM. Once you change that setting, it works.
Try changing MapExtMem to either 1 or 0 (I can't remember which one). It worked for me.

CODE
# External memory pak configuration:
# You can use external memory pack (like Opera RAM, Slot 2 card reader...) to
# increase memory available for emulator.
# There are two modes available for external memory:
#
# MapExtMem = 0 => Use external memory like a disk with paging enabled.
# In this mode, the emulator copy part of the ROM into the DS RAM as the
# the game needs it. It is the fastest method in most games.
#
# MapExtMem = 1 -> Map external memory directly, doesn't use memory paging.
# In this mode, the emulator doesn't copy the ROM into the DS RAM, it uses it
# directly from the external memory. As external memory is much slower than
# DS RAM, it is most of the time the slower method, but if a game uses a large
# range of memory (like graphic intensive game like Mortal Kombat), it can
# be faster than the other method. Some games can crash or refuse to launch,
# because the ROM cannot be locked read-only.
MapExtMem = 1

SLot 2 RAM isn't needed at all, it just speeds up some big games (3MB+).

Make sure you grab the right version, v0.6 Alpha. The latest blog post contains v0.3 instead, so be careful.

I just redownloaded v0.6 Alpha. I don't have to DLDI patch it since R4 patches automatically right?
Correct. Also, DanTheMan, the latest blog post is actually here

This is true. I guess what I meant is that the first post you see when viewing the SNEmulDS homepage is for v0.3, as the ordering is all screwed up for some reason.
