Except for some graphical glitches, this emulator is made of good compatibility and decent speed (and of course, win).

I´m lovin´ it.

The obvious questions are:
Does Earthbound work?
Does it have saving?
Does it have sound?

Thanks

I haven't actually checked with the new version, so this are just speculations from past experience with it. It ran pretty good, but since it used the snezzids engine, there were some rare freezes after defeating the first boss. Also, the text wasn't visible at boss fights. The rare freezes might be fixed now and since you can change between layers, you should be able to make the boss fights visible now.

As for sound it works and as for saving.. super metroid didn't save when using the ingame save thing.. so earthbound might not save normally either. However, save states worked perfectly for super metroid and it might work good for earthbound as well.

I'll be trying earthbound later as this might be the version to actually be able to play earthbound all the way through

I just tried Earthbound, and it ran pretty quickly with the default settings, but the text and menu boxes had some issues layering. This is the first time I've used any of the SNES emulators on the DS, so I wasn't really sure if there are ways to fix that with the background settings, etc. I'll test saving right now.

*edit - Regular saving and save states work fine in Earthbound. The battle backgrounds however could give someone an epileptic seizure. They are a little messed up, and so is the transparency/layering, but that may be fixable with options.

Earthbound boss fights are still messed up, but not nearly as much before. Text shows up, but it's the wrong text. I checked every BG mode, but the scrolling graphics are still messed up.

Not sure if im missing something here, but have we lost the ability to disable layers altogether? Id like to play Umihara Kawase but one of the background layers is glitched and flashes. I used to be able to disable the layer, but the layering priority with 2 other layers was a problem in 0.4a. Now the layering works fine, I would just like to remove an unnessisary one.

Gbatemp needs a compatibility list for these snes emus, pocketheaven's are horrible >_>.

btw does blackthorne work >_>

Why bother with a somehow imperfect emulated version when you can play the official GBA port which is nearly identical to the Snes original ?
As far as I can tell it's only been adapted to the smaller screen by scrolling it up and down to follow the main character, and if you play it with a flashcart that supports RTS, (like an M3 perfect) you don't even have to bother with the bloody passwords.......

Yeah that's why I didn't bother to try it when I tested this emu.
By the way, my favorite, Metal Warriors doesn't boot

Anyone in here know how to run this crap?

Last time I ran this crap you had to download the SnemulDS file and copy it into your the root directory of your card Then patch it if necessary. Create a folder called SNES in the root drive of your card. Put files for games in the SNES folder. Run the program and let nature take it's course.

In game saving in Super Metroid works for me. After you save at a save station, don't forget to click "Save SRAM" in the emu's menu.

I'm pleased with the improvements. BUT. The layering needs more customizability, such as prioritising layers manually, including disable, and the squish options, because they somehow manage to not squish all the layers...

Great work. But don't stop yet!

Thanks, that did the trick. I recall you didn't have to do that in the prev versions though.. oh well.

Castlevania4 is fully playable thanks to the layer altering option now too (nonvisible sprites at some stages in the prev versions).

In addition to the nonunderstandable text in earthbound during boss fights, the game froze when entering their home after the boss fight. Not quite there yet, but almost

Final fantasy is working perfect, except for the display texts (Not showing). You can make it work with text, but with some really nasty flittering.

Most basic 2d action sidescrollers are working perfectly too.

Im still waiting for the day EB works on this emu =)

I patched it with DLDI and everything and i can't get Super Metroid or Super Mario Kart past the "Nintendo" start up screen, what gives? I'm using an M3 Simply.

I think Mario RPG has another processor in the card itself. It was one of the last snes games to be emulated properly on pc emulators. I don't think the DS has the processing power to handle it but you never know.

Almost none of the games i've tried on this emu work properly (freezes), and sadly, bubsy still doesn't work

Top Gear is very close to working perfectly though, all that's needed for it to work perfectly is fixing the flashing ingame and fixing the roads (road looks fine but only goes straight forward, turns in the road do not show)
