You'll need cygwin most likely, as you have to build the MINI toolchain in order to compile MINI/sneek. On Linux/OSX nothing else is needed besides GCC. :3

Cygwin is not required. I started a setup guide in the Wiki, but I won't finish it here (at work). If nobody else edites it, I will have it finished at ~ 9 pm (GMT+1).

Well now. That looks pretty daunting. But hey, I've been meaning to learn how to compile things and now's as good a time as any to start.

EDIT: Nevermind cygwin, I'm going with DevKitPRO. lol

I've got it compiled, but what do I need to use boot2me.exe and elfins.exe with? The compiled files?
I imagine this part is similar to SNEEK v1, see below:

Source: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=187435
8. Using a command prompt I typed in "elfins.exe esmodule.elf 0000000e tmp.bin" followed by "elfins.exe fsmodule.elf tmp.bin 0000000e.app" and finally "boot2me.exe 0000000e.app boot2.bin"
9. Copied the newly made boot2.bin to the root of my SD card

0000000e.app comes from IOS60v6147 (downloaded and decrypted with NUSDv1.3 from wiibrew)

You'll also need to get the replacement ppcboot.elf that works with boot2.bin in SD root. I'm not sure where this comes from yet. Perhaps you can use the same one that came with SNEEK v1 if you happened to grab that when it was available.

EDIT: Or given the post above, maybe ppcboot.elf is not required. Perhaps it's a replacement armboot.bin that's needed. Anyone?

Alright. Looks like I'll be on my way to testing it in about 10 mins then, once my nand dump is complete from SFSD.

Edit: Are you sure a ppcboot isn't necessary..? I get the lovely drive LED blinking when I don't have one. I'll double check to make sure I have sneek's armboot instead of Twiizers'.

Edit2: Figured it out. You just keep the bootmii ppcboot. This is so cool!

Det1re will write some instructions throughout the day I'd wager. I could tell you how to do the part after compiling, though..

From various debates in the Configurable USB Loader thread, I recall that the GPL doesn't necessarily state that the source HAS to be distributed every time the executables are given, but rather upon the request of interested parties.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
