Yes if I update my SNEEK NAND.

So your saying it will not update anything on my Wii (meaning my original boot2 is safe?)
Your real Boot2 will not be updated

Sneeks boot2 won't be touched also as it has version set to boot2v5

Ok thats good. Cause I plan on updating my SNEEK NAND to 4.2 because my church uses my Wii on friday nights and they have some of the new games with the 4.2 update on them and I didnt want to update my boot2.

Just get the modify any wii packs and install IOS70 from the modify pack and system menu for your region from update pack with showmiiwads and your sneek nand will be at 4.2

Do I download Nintendo's update? If not could you tell me what to do to update my Wii safely.

Which games are these? I haven't heard of any with 4.2 and thought NSMB was the only one with boot2v4.

They have Wii Sports Resort and NSMB.

Oh ok I thought they did. Well I'll just make sure I'm running my emulated NAND before letting them install anything update on my Wii.

WSR had System Menu 3.4 on it. Only NSMB Wii has 4.1 and boot2v4 on it.

But not only does SNEEK report boot2v5, ES_ImportBoot also was changed to not do anything except report success. So yeah, it's not being updated and even if it were, your real NAND wouldn't be affected.

You probably don't need boot2 though. You could potentially delete region select and EULA once you've got the nand running.

IMPORTANT: With this setup it will take upto 5 minutes to load the setup screen and once that's finished it can take another 5 minutes to go from health screen to channel screen. This time lag is only for the first time you run it which the system creates all the files it needs. It will be super fast the second time around.

Using this setup on a Kingston 1GB microSD card with a Kingston SD adaptor I had a fully operational 3.2U System Menu running in under 5 minutes. I did an official update to 4.2U and it also worked perfectly.

Hello again everyone! I have a pal wii and I'm Using SNEEK to run a 3.2U (NTSC) system... I can run the ntsc wii disks fine (the pal wii disks cannot be recognized) but I 'm not able to get any gamecube (ntsc) disks recognized... What do you think I'm doing wrong? I downloaded the necessary IOS's using the NUS Auto Downloader for Windows by X-Flak...

NUSD. Or update with any game.

Thank you very much! I wasn't aware of the NUSD...

I'm still having problems though... I've installed BC and MIOS but still, when I put in a gamecube disc it spins down... (wii discs are still working fine though...).
I forgot to mention that I have a modchip installed.... a wasabi zero... Is it possible that it affects gamecube games?

Thanks

I don't know if anybody mentioned before, but cIOS rev7 and cMIOS from WiiGator working fine with Sneek. Rev7 doesn't have hdd or double layer support but it plays all my dvd5 backups. So it is not the worst option for now.
Hmm, that's good to know I guess. The weird thing is that it would "brick" my virtual NAND whenever I tried installing a wad of rev7 through ShowMiiWads. But it seemed to have installed correctly after running rev7's installer app from SNEEK. Time to bust out the old backup launcher gamma. lol

I've installed cIOS 249 v7, but Backup Laucher 0.3 doesn't works

I'm trying to load DVDBackup but I've still can't, black screen (from .dol in HBC and from WAD)

BackupLaucher R7 doen't work

Same here tried installing cIOS rev07 and still get black screen on loaders and apps and can't install earlier versions as they only read the wad file's from sd and sd is disabled

For any that are interested, I managed to get neogamma to work on SNEEK. What I did was take IOS38 from the cIOScorp 3.6 pack and changed the slot to IOS249 using ShowMiiWads. I did this initially so that I could get some games that were patched to IOS249 to work, and then upon further testing I discovered that neogamma worked as well.

I've tested backup wii discs, retail GC discs, and backup GC discs, and they all work. Obviously, USB loading does not work (no EHCI module is present), but at least everything else works.
