Slipknot - All Hope Is Gone

Ok I'm not metal fan, in fact Reinventing the Steel by Pantera was probably the last one I listened to all the way through without getting bored and reaching for something with a tune (I'm an indie/alt boy at heart, well what us Brits call indie/alt, anyway) but I recently just...erm downloaded...the new Slipknot album and I enjoyed it!

Ok I've only heard their first 2 records and well the fast songs were good but I wasn't keen on the slow ones and as for Subliminal Verses, it just passed me, mainly as in 2004 I was too busy just being a drunk and sleeping around.

Anyway I really liked it, even the one or two slow songs and will be buying a copy when it does hit the shops.

So anyone else "digging it"?

EDIT: Actually I did listen to St Anger by Metallica for like a week none stop, and then realised it was shit.

Also I must stress that I don't consider Hard Rock to be Heavy metal, you know awesome stuff by Queens of the Stone Age and that.

Slipknot is ok for me, but I like Metallica (80's only) and Slayer the best.

I hope Metallica's new album Death Magnetic is good

Im not really that in to Metal. Its not that I hate it, I actually like it sort of. The metal I do hear if its from a friend or whatever I like. I prefer metal over most rock music. I just tend not to download or go out of my way to listen. If I was to find a link saying good metal songs you should download right now I would listen.

Ontopic: Never liked Slipknot, but also, I didn't mind if some of their faster songs were played in the background somewhere, their album before this last one was complete failure, full of easy emo songs, and sucky singing/no screaming..
I don't know about this new one, but I'm sure I won't be listing to it.....

I just really think they need to throw Corey's ass out. He is a bad vocalist, He was good on the first two albums and then he just went to shit.

Not a fan of Slipknot myself although there's a song or two that I like by them.

I hate to tell you this, but All Hope Is TRULY Gone...Metallica has been crap for ages. I gave a few songs off of this new Slipknot a listen and so far it blows that last piece out of the water. It's no Iowa, but it's not horrible either.
