Gaming Skype Doesn't Work [Halp?]

I have been trying to get it to work FOREVER.
I have Custom Firmware installed [5.0 M33-6]

Whenever I log on Skype, and try to call a Contact, it instantly says "An error occured in playing the voicemail.". Trying to log off of skype either results in the PSP freezing, or the PSP crashing and turning off.

is it the phat or the slim? skype wont work with phat because it uses 64mb ram of the slim
