Hacking Sky3ds + Not loading Animal Crossing New Leaf?

So I just got 2 Sky3ds cards for my girlfriend and I, and downloaded Animal Crossing New Leaf onto them. It worked perfectly fine for my girlfriend, but I had trouble with it right from the start. The game kept saying "gamecard removed" at the same time, every time. I reformatted my micro SD card and somehow it managed to work. Later, when I tried to open the game again, it just got stuck on a black loading screen with a train in the bottom right. Why isn't it working for me?

Are you playing not-your-own-region Animal Crossing?

It should be USA rom so it's most likely the SD card. My new SD card is coming in tomorrow so I'll update the thread if it happens to work or not, thank you!
