No, he will have to deal with templates instead. Unless of course you get your hands dirty and deal with them for him. Which still makes the Sky3DS un-user-friendly. Unless having to have someone savvy handling things to get games working for you is your idea of user friendliness.

Umm... yeah. He's 6. He's not going to remember all the steps to get in to gateway mode come Christmas morning - not to mention gateway doesn't even support his firmware version.

So, if you want to play ROMs come the 25th, on your +v4.5 3DS, as of now the sky3ds is the only choice.

I was being rhetorical. Anyway, kinda missing my point now.

Kinda missing my point now.

You like Gateway and dislike Sky3DS - you think everyone should feel the same. I get it.

It's basic human nature really. It's why people go door to door asking if you've found Jesus, like Coke and dislike Pepsi, or cheer for one team over another.

It's their choice to make. As long as people are happy with their choices; who cares?

You really never had a point when you posted.
Sky3ds folks are playing games now. Gateway folks are still waiting to exhale imho.
But, I digress.

Anyways, back on topic:
Op, like others have said, you need to either check your rom integrity(region, patches, dump, etc.) or change to another template.
I have downloaded ALL the templates from the first to the last off of the sky3ds site. I occasionaly but not often have to use an older template for some games. It takes literally less than 2 seconds to do this.
A 6 year old(see what i did there) can do this if necessary.

A note to Sky3ds makers:
I think the problem with templates can be solved if you guys look through ALL of your templates, and then cut/paste every game and compile them into ONE template.
Then, when you need to update the template with new games, make sure that you are appending the new games to a COMPLETED template.
Im in the process of manually doing this myself. It looks like newer templates were missing older games and such. I am making one template with all of the games included.

The whole template thing is a mess. The way sky3ds team has it set up currently it will never be plug and play, it will be plug and wait until sky3ds generates a new template file... FOR.. EVERY.. NEW.. ROM ... THAT.. IS.. RELEASED!!!

But hey.. Atleast it's not WAITWAY amirite?
