Relax dude it was simple mistake and I corrected it now on to more important matters
 
This is still a work in progress, but what do you think looks better: with or without the bar behind the buttons:

I think the one with the bar looks better on the main screen, but unfortunately you can't have another background for your file select and other menus, so it looks worse there. Which does everyone think would be better?


EDIT: Or does the Nu more accurately represent settings?

@gk.7: I love the use of diagonal "Under Construction" stripes for the background. I think the Nintendo DS logo is too big. Maybe you should shrink it down just a little. The Edge's logo is a little bit difficult to read because of the letters stretching across teh screen. For new users who are unfamiliar with Edge, may have a hard time thinking it's for an Edge card. The icons are incredible, unfortunately they seem out of place with the background. The colors used for the text/window are plain. Try sampling in some colors like red and yellow from your icons and background so they work well as a whole skin. The icons for the cheat menu are nice and clean, but again, I would like to see more color. Overall, good work.

This'll be practice for me I guess. I do a lot o critiques since I'm in an drawing/painting program.

@infestOr: First of all, follow the format please. You have to give feedback to the entry before your post. Anyways, you have a nice design going there. Nice crisp lines with a translucent vector going on in the background. You choice of colors are good. Nothing is too overpowering which attracts the eyes too much.. except when the icons are selected. But that's the point, you want to know what you have selected. The gold bar on the bottom of your top screen is a bit unnecessary in my opinion. It just locks the nice vector design you have going in the background bleeding from the top screen into the bottom screen. I'd like to see more of the background instead of the gold bar. Your text is nice and clear even with the background taking place. Your icons are good, but the media icon may be hard to understand. I know it's a roll of film, but I didn't figure that out until I looked more closely. It's up to you if you want to change that. The tad bit of reflect for the icons was a nice touch.

Overall, it's simple and appealing to the eye. The word "edge" on the top screen though, is a bit overpowering because it's on the dead center. But if you want that effect, it's good to go. I just have a thing with things being always in the center.. I like to work off center once in a while.

Really nice theme. A creative and fun looking design. Only problem is that some text is hard to read, maybe consider changing the text color, but I can tell you were going for mostly monochrome/black and white. The theme has a lot going on, but it's not cluttered or annoying, a good balance.

@Anakir: your theme is very nice, solid in every aspect. The only criticism i can add is the icon for game/media/option select. It looks nice, but I feel it doesn't fit with the rest of the theme. I can't think of anything to change it to though, just somehow make it fit with the black and white of the rest of the skin if there's still enough time? If you can't think of anything to do to the icons, maybe remove that black box around them when they're selected, while keeping that blue glow.

@neonix: creative idea I guess and you executed it well. I think your cheat menu icons are very nicely done - nice and clean. However, personally I wouldn't put this on my ds. This is totally a personal preference here - some people might love the idea of their edge interface looking like a wii (if this sounds sarcastic i'm not being sarcastic) - I wouldn't want my edge cart to look like my wii.

Many more quality entries than I thought there would be, gl with the competition guys

Yes. Just use the save screenshot feature in either the EDGE Skin Tester or the CycloDS Skin Tester.

The images can be uploaded for free either on photobucket.com or tinypic.com, or any other site of your choosing.
 
@neonix - Nice theme you've got there with Virtual Console. Suggestions I'll make are to fuss with the highlight color in the XML settings - it looks difficult to distinguish a highlighted item from the lower half of the bottom.bmp background. Otherwise, I'd play with the borders you have around your menu icons & the centered "edge" screen panel in your top.bmp. I'm not sure why, but the borders look a little out of place with repect to the rest of your design.

Thanks for the criticism. I'll work on it when I have time. I got work soon. I'll see what I can get done.

Thanks. You were right about the cheat icons. About the the other icons, i actually got the .bmp's with transparent background and looks like that. Tried cutting part of the background and looks like that either. That kind of sucks. But i think for being my very first one isnt bad.

I like it a lot actually. I'd change 2 things tho. The scroll bar, instead of having 2 colors, try adding the color on the left to the right also and leave the yellow in the middle. And the edge logo looks a little squashed (did i spell that right?)... nice work
