I have a bunch of copies of various Singstar discs on my drive. When I mount one of it, the ps3 asks me to do an update. If I do the update, when the game starts the console freezes (I think that's because it wants to use the internal Singstar app maybe?). If I skip the update, the game starts but the microphone companion app for my phone can't find any istance of Singstar (the ps3 and the phone are in the same network of course). I think that's because it's not supported on that singstar version, maybe it requires an update (but, as I stated earlier, I can't update because it freezes).
I want to know if there's a way to get Singstar games iso to work with the mic app on the smartphone (maybe some update that implements the feature but does not force you to use the internal Singstar app?).
P.S.: as an extra, is it possible to use burned ps2 singstar discs with the disc swap, or it does need only original ones?
