Hi guys,
I'm sure this is just some simple IOS issue i'm having, a freind had a pre-hacked (meaning i had nothing to do with it) 3.2U wii
I've updated him using modmii to version 4.1
i've added usbloader_GX and WiiMC to it for him with the forwarder channels.
Both apps work GREAT when launched from the homebrew channel, however if i try and use the forwarders they just hang mid-loading,
on the status for USB loader GX it says initializing USB .. and thats where it hangs unfortunately there is no status screen on the WiiMC

i'm assuming coz the apps work fine from the HBC that this is just some simple IOS issue

Also and this isn't as important..
i also have multi mod manager (MMM) installed however it will not install any wad files it returns a RET-2011 on all wads i have tried to install
i have since used waninkokos wad manager and all the same wads install just fine ...

This also seems to be an IOS issue.. but not as important .. i'd really like to get the forwarders working...

THANKS GUYS !!!

In MMM, you need to select first which ios the program should use. Usually, 236 is used for that (It's a patched ios 36)
You could run syscheck and see if you have that ios236.
If you don't have it, you won't be able to select it in MMM as well.
Usually, switching to one of the cios does the trick as well. MMM has an option to install IOS 236.

Sometimes, older forwarders don't run from ios 58. This means the harddisk isn't using an usb 2.0 interface, but an older usb 1.1.
When a program like usbloader_gx starts up, it can't reinialise the harddisk causing the hang.

You could maybe try to locate another forwarder. Another option is using customize Mii to replace the "forwarder dol" in the "forwarder wad" by one using IOS58 that is known to work. Another issue with forwarders is the fact that they sometimes don't support the parameters set in the meta.xml file.

IOS 58 isn not causing your forwarder issues. The fact the forwarders are ***not*** using ios 58 can cause issues.

Use customize Mii on your forwarder wad, and check which ios is selected for the forwarder to run.

Reinstalling the same forwarder won't make a difference. You need one with another forwarder dol that works.

You can extract the forwarder dol from the wad as well.
If you run that dol from within the HBC, you can check if it's capable of launching the program.
(rename it to boot.dol and place it in a subfolder of the apps folder.)
