The thing I don't like about NS2 Editions are the covers, they look so ugly as if it were ads, but on the bright side it comes with extra content and improvements.
Unfortunately the ugliness is the distinct aspect of it. All Nintendo Switch 2 releases suffer with the large red banner across the top, so that's less box art already. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition blurb at the bottom doesn't make it any better, but it is at least transparent, so you still see some of the box art. I have to put partial blame on the consumer for not reading the back of the game boxes though. Probably wouldn't have to have the blurb on the front, if more people actually cared about what they were buying more thoroughly. Some stores don't allow you to pick the packaging up though, instead they are stuck behind plastic casing and secured to the shelf. While differing systems can still make it possible to view the back, I have seen some that don't. Due to this, I do kind of get the benefit of having the blurb on the front in a situation like that. Could also just be that Nintendo really didn't want people to confuse the types of physical releases, since they all have the large red banner already. I don't feel we needed another situation where we couldn't distinguish between standard Nintendo DS / 3DS releases, and those that were enhanced for the Nintendo DSi / New 3DS. New Nintendo 3DS releases had a large white banner across the box too.The thing I don't like about NS2 Editions are the covers, they look so ugly as if it were ads, but on the bright side it comes with extra content and improvements.
