N3DS 9.2.0-20E:
MD5: 6dcca8fcbc9a28c82c2a4e5182f3acf8
SHA-1: e7c77bf205137167f1f1befa0c4db9d879a21a2e?
These don't match the zip file I downloaded from that thread today, so I checked with safesysupdater before downgrading and the checks failed.

The hashes I get are:
md5: aaa5960a3061da1f08d944d8e7017bd6
sha-1: 306d0aa8cd195f9ee4388a9686db5658a330b59b

Any advice? I've tried to find other sources with no luck. If anyone could PM me to help me out, it would be much appreciated. ;);)

Had a rough go, but finally managed to downgrade. Here is what my quest looked like:
  • New 3DS 10.3U
  • BrowserHax, IronHax & MenuHax
  • sysUpdater 4.2b & SafeSysUpdater
Tried as many different entry points as I had access to with both sysUpdater and SafeSysUpdater. sysUpdater mostly crashed on boot, or gave me CIA errors. SafeSysUpdater mostly just went to pink dots in the bottom corner. Probably tried downgrading around 30 times.

Eventually I just started doing attempts as fast as I could: MenuHax -> SafeSysUpdater -> Downgrade -> Pink Dots Crash -> Remove Battery to quickly power off -> Reinsert battery and repeat.

Doing that for a while worked xD NOT REALLY RECOMMENDED but that worked for me :D

Same problem here, but in my case, for the N3DS 9.2.0-20U. I'm getting these hashes:
MD5: E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477
SHA-1: ECA4BA9DF44B03748BB8AA9C42186B38C62C0D1A

The file has the name "9.2.0-20U(Full)_n3DS.zip" and has 104 .cia files. Someone can check that for us?

I'm not that patient to wait the an answer so I tried to downgrade and it was successful!

I'm used the file with the name "9.2.0-20U(Full)_n3DS.zip" and hashes:
MD5: E6339468A1E82B1D50E9222F017C0477
SHA-1: ECA4BA9DF44B03748BB8AA9C42186B38C62C0D1A

Using Ninjahax with the combination Sky3DS + Cubic Ninja and SafeSysUpdater.
I was on firmware 10.0.0-27U

Important Information that I did not see anyone saying: You will not lose your games and saves in the process!

I am sorry if this is the wrong place or something, but i really need help.

Basically, everything was going well until the SysUpdater part. I downloaded the correct files, put everything in the right place and etc...

But whenever i open the updater so i go back to 9.2, the app just crashes. It doesnt matter if i press Y to downgrade or B to come back, it just freezes my 3DS and forces me to restart.

It doesnt matter how many times i try, it is just not working. Is there anything at all that could be causing this, or am i just being unlucky? I fully understand it takes more than one try, but this is starting to worry me. If there is anything, no matter how small, that might be crashing the app on start up, i would like to know.

I used the browse hax.

With the trouble that people are having with CIAs, I'm wondering...
If I were to post a link of my Github web page in the OP and juuuust so happen to have a link directly to the CIAs on there, does that count as linking illegal warez? :creep:
If so, I'll try to improve the search better or something so that people are getting the confirmed correct update CIAs.

You should warn that Japanese users of a New 3DS must remove the title 000400102002CA00 if they don't want to get a brick.
I have the small version that comes with the animal crossing bundle, still US version though, do I still have to delete the file?

Here to report that i've successfuly downgraded:
- 1 American New 3ds XL
- 2 American Old 3ds
- 1 european old 3ds XL

All of them with safesysupdater, and the cias from you know what site.

All of them beeing on 10.3 prior to the downgrade, and now succesfully runing rxtools and gateway.

Launching rate with safesysupdater was pretty different from console to console, in the new3ds it worked with about 15 retrys from menuhax and ninjax, with the two american old3ds, ironhax did the job on its first try, after lots of frezzes with menuhax, and finally the european o3ds, did it with menuhax on first fucking try.

Yeah I didn't get a chance to post an update yesterday, but I'd transferred the updates over FTP and one of the files must have been corrupted in the process. Re-transferring the files that failed the check fixed the problem. I guess safesysupdater really saved my bacon there!

Successfully downgraded N3DSXL 10.3.28E using safesysupdater. Few failed attemptes but then tried ftbrony trick (open ftbrony->get IP->close->start sysupdater).

Question:

Since I heard 10.3.0-28 has most successful downgrade (I myself succeeded to downgrade 2 N3DS XL from 10.3.0-28U), would this sysupdater be any safer to update to 10.3.0-28 first before start downgrading?
This! I can't find anyone who has tried to update to 10.3 first. I just soft bricked my 3ds on 9.6 (got a Nintendo error message half way through and half the system doesn't load lol) so tomorrow I'm wanting to try updating first then downgrade.

What tutorial were you following?
I was following this guide to downgrade from 9.6 to 9.2 and ended up in a semi brick so only option is to update to 10.4 now.
I'm just hoping its possibly to get from 9.6 to 10.3 then back to 9.2 without errors, I see people talking about upgrading first but haven't seen any posts sating that they have successfully managed it or even attempted it.

Well that sucks! Your only option would be to update your console. But how did you manage to soft brick it? What errors did you get? I mean you must have done something wrong because people downgraded fine with systems bellow 10.3

Everything was going fine until about 30 seconds or so into writing the new cias to the 3ds then a Nintendo error message popped saying something about a system error please reboot. I rebooted and got a black screen, so I pulled the sd card out and managed to get to the 3ds os. Some things worked like the camera and other apps but trying to load up settings it would just freeze and same with browser. I'm guessing it managed to flash most cias before the error giving my half of a working 9.2 system. Such a bummer I brought the 3ds today to downgrade :(

Looking through load of posts it seems most failed attempts are on firmware versions lower then 10.3 that's why I was wondering if it made sense to update to it first then downgrade.

Well you could try again using browserhax? I mean if you can get into the system thats a very good sign? What hax did you use to downgrade?
