Do you actually have to purchase a DSiWare game or is it enough to download it via fShop (since you already got CFW installed on that lower firmware console)?

You have to purchase it, as it won't transfer if it's not legit.

I'm sure 3ds.guide will have a good tutorial on it, as they did when it was relevant for NFIRM downgrading on 11.0-11.2.

If you have A9LH, you already have ARM9 access. If you have 9.0 - 11.3, you can easily get ARM9 access.

11.4 OFW needs a hardmod or a DSiWarehax transfer.

Yes, if I remember correctly you need a legit DSiWare game as a "container" for DSiWareHax.

Will totally invest in that little piece. Maybe I should quickly do so because DSiWare games might be taken off the shop in order to keep 11.4 without the possibility of sighax?

That's usually Nintendo's style but I believe it's more than just a handful of DSiWare games that can be injected. If I can find the thread I'll PM it to you. And you're welcome!
