*sigh* Well shit. I guess there goes my plan for hacking my n3ds. I should've created a nand dump of my o3ds or something.

Side note: How hard would it be to make an a9lh hack on 11.3?
Pretty hard. We've only had 3 or 4 total, I think. arm11 is much easier. That's why we have still have homebrew/userland on 11.3. I read 11.3 made it easier for arm11 exploit. Someone may have an arm9 exploit they haven't released, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Your best bet is to sell your 11.3 and get 11.2 or less. Next time ask the what the firmware is.

Wait...so arm11 is still a possibility? Does CFW exist for that?

CFW needs an arm9 hack. Arm11 will get homebrew running, but the kind of access and control needed for CFW is through Arm9

That sucks. What do you think will happen, then? Am I doomed to a stock 3ds forever? (And for the last time I am not selling my 3ds. It is very special.) Could I possibly system transfer a hacked 3ds to mine and get Luma3ds somehow through that?

You either wait for a new arm9 exploit or just be happy with your special edition and homebrew. We might never get another arm9 exploit. Without a NAND backup, you can't do DSiWarehax nor hardmod to get CFW on 11.3. Native Firm downgrade was patched on 11.3. You're SOL without a new arm9 exploit. Nothing's going to change that.

Well, the advice I got for my 3.63 firmware vita is to replace the motherboard, so I suppose there may be a way of doing similar. Not sure I'd risk it.

Yes. That will work if you get a motherboard with NAND 11.2 or less. I personally wouldn't risk it. All those tiny tabs and ribbon cables. But since people do motherboard replacements and other things, it's possible. I just don't like messing with that stuff.

Diffulity level is on beast mode for a motherboard swap if you can't hardmod don't even think about it. I couldn't even get myself to take the top screen apart too much effort and too many ribbons and screws. Here's the other thing about sighax that was mentioned...it's a hardware vulnerability to what arm9/11 kernel??? Or just bootloader? I've watched the 33c3 video countless times but it's hard to get any real information from it other than how the bootloader works and how memory is stored and overflows..etc.

He's probably rolling everything into one. He got rid of EmuNAND9. I guess Decrypt9 is next. Maybe the noobs are getting dumber too as the Guide gets easier.
Oic. Wonder what the new name would be called then.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If your not dumb, just use decrypt9, the same thing was the reasoning behind the creation of hourglass9 I.e stupid people doing stupid stuff then begging for help after they have bricked their system or updated to a unhackable FW,

The guide isn't designed to be only noob proof, but idiot proof
very very true my friend.

Seems like everything is getting rolled into GodMode9.
.... Of course when I never even use GodMode9. I only used it once to move from emuNAND & sysNAND to sysNAND only months ago. Other than that, never. Welp, gotta start getting familiar with GM9. Always used Decrypt9 to do all my shit...

if an arm9 exploit for 11.3 is found, yes sighax can be installed. so can a9lh.

until then you are stuck with userland homebrew with soundhax or cubic ninja (maybe some other hax works too)

on n3ds userland homebrew means some decent emulators.
you are totally wrong my friend. you can either use dsiwarehax/fasthax/arm9payload or a hardmod. all you need is NAND R/W access.

@Maestrx thats your answer.

Are you talking about someone who has a NAND backup of their console from before it was updated? If not, that's terrible misinformation!

11.3 OFW patches downgrading by all methods except restoring legit nand backup you made before the upgrade with hardmod/dsiwarehax.

hardmod will not allow a downgrade. dsiwarehax will not allow a downgrade. and there is no arm9 exploit yet.

only current way is to install a9lh BEFORE 11.3 update. this gets you full arm9 access and the crypto required to do downgrades. but at that point, no downgrade is needed unless you soft bricked, and then you can restore nand backup.

Actually, if sighax ever becomes a possibility, dsiwarehax allows for nand read/write access. 11.3 would just become the new 11.0, requiring a second cfw 3ds to mod, unless custom dns servers with sighax firmwares ever become a thing.

Yeah the first point is true, but you will not be able to do any sever spoofing to install sighax because sighax only exploits the bootrom, the system would never accept such a shoddy signature as legit to install it and the 3ds uses ssl so you could not redirect the servers without having the system already hacked in the first place

So basically 11.3 is the end? I know sighax can be easily installed with hardmod but I'm speaking of softmod here.
